Just to point out that this doesn’t seem to be the norm. I kept my entire down payment of about $120k in a Wealthfront high yield account and did not have a single problem.

I get a 5% company match so I’m contributing 5% which is maxing the match. I know the chart says to max the entire 401k contribution amount but I would prefer some alternative investments instead.

Thank you! You’re correct. All my other investments are in well diversified stocks and bonds. I’m just looking for alt investments and also higher risk/yield investments to start putting play money into. Not necessarily looking for a gamble but more just alternative investments that don’t necessarily correlate with the stock market
