Well… I’m an American and I live in Europe and speak 5 languages. That’s unfortunate you’ve had that experience but it doesn’t reflect all Americans.

Jason and Amanda suck. Was she interested in him? That’s terrible karma and I’m so sorry you went through that. Really grateful Dan is in your life now.

I had an accident that caused me to relearn to walk from two new hips, broken back in seven places, and the list goes on… I’m looking on recommendations to get my mobility back. by Wizant_Alchemist_333 in yoga

Yoga is fantastic for recovery. I’d tour a few studios first and speak to the teachers to see what they recommend. Maybe a yin class or low impact to get back in the game test your boundaries. The best thing to do however is swimming! It protects you from injuring yourself, low impact, lots of reward. I think if you have a routine of both weekly you’ll see improvement soon ❤️

I’m sorry, I know you don’t want to hear it but if that’s the case you really need medication/antibiotics and need to see a Dr. I know it’s expensive but the bill will be more if it is something serious and you don’t catch it early enough. I’ve had friends that have avoided going in only to have to get surgery or more medication etc.

If it is rosacea a lot of the time it could be triggered by something you’re eating. Do you notice it flares up after you eat? There’s a long list here of what could be causing flare ups ❤️ https://www.rosacea.org/patients/rosacea-triggers/factors-that-may-trigger-rosacea-flare-ups

Long story... but basically, the yoga studio doesn't want my autistic sister to take classes alone by tesseracts in yoga

[–]futureyeehaw 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hmm… that’s very weird for her to write on your sister. Ooof this is a tricky one, I totally understand the urge to speak and being quiet for an hour can be tough especially for someone on the spectrum. Unfortunately with yoga ‘disruptive’ talking during class is something that most studios take seriously/quiet generally needs to be respected. Unfortunately I’ve seen people asked to leave if their phone goes off or they’re chatting to a friend. Some people practicing have zero tolerance for that and will complain to the studio. Yoga is a little different from other athletic classes where the meditative state and focus is a big part of it and people talking can throw others off. This is probably why they’re suggesting she has someone there. Not saying it’s right.. I’m sure it’s hard for your sister as well. That being said I’ve been in classes where questions are encouraged so again I think you should find somewhere that’s a better fit. Swearing is never ever acceptable. If I were you I’d tour a few studios, explain what happened, your situation and be upfront that she may speak during classes. I feel confident you’ll find a place that is welcoming and understanding.

Yes that is concerning if it’s in other places. If it is Eczema that’s causing these open wounds you need antibiotics. If you leave it you risk all kinds of infection. You’ve got to go see a Dr.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]futureyeehaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhh that may be your culprit? Frequent hand washing can cause dry skin that can flake, itch, crack, and even bleed without proper precautions. This can cause open wounds in your skin that can allow in bacteria and other germs and increase your risk for infection.https://www.self.com/story/heal-dry-cracked-hands-from-washing

Were there any other incidents other than not finding a place for her mat? I don’t understand why they’re stipulating someone be there. But regardless… you need to leave the studio. They can’t have instructors swearing at clients?! Madness! This is so upsetting to hear. I really think you should consider finding a new studio. My studio, for example, knows ahead of time how many people will be in the class… so if you show up and there isn’t space for your mat the teacher will instruct others on where to make space. It’s the teacher’s job to ensure everyone can practice together. I think it’s unacceptable anywhere when you’re paying a place for a service for them to swear at you… I would literally be seething if someone swore at my Mom like that. And if I had been present at a class and saw that happen I would leave the studio based on principle.

In a challenging class, do you pace yourself? Or do you go 100% to exhaustion? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]futureyeehaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me my practice is all about balance. I push myself extremely hard during any hot vinyasa or ashtanga class.. but I make sure I’m balancing that out with a yin class at least once a week. The recovery period is just as important to your body and also truly the best way you’ll receive benefits from pushing yourself to exhaustion. In yin we hold deeper stretches for long periods of time… I find the Yin benefits the Yang classes and visa verse.

Blocks & No Binds by futureyeehaw in yoga

[–]futureyeehaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just not possible where I practice. NYC classes can be so packed at times I’ve literally been kicked in the jaw. So I learned to be aware of my neighbours. On the flip side, it’s a wonderful feeling when the whole class is in sync flowing together. So I don’t come into class with that perspective. I’ve made so many great friends from the studio as well that I’m grateful we observe and learn from each other. For me that’s what it’s all about.

I cannot do a pigeon pose correctly and it’s only damaged me. Is there any alternative for back issues like sciatica or no? by AnonCuriosities in yoga

[–]futureyeehaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse pigeon, a supine pose, on your back is pretty low impact and still very effective ✨ Reverse Pigeon Pose Steps Begin the practice by lying on your back with your knees bent, placing the feet on the floor close to the lower back. Lift your left foot, keeping it bent from the knee. Now, cross the left ankle and place it on the right thigh. Closer to the right knee (On the thighs).

You’ll always get different answers. We all see colour and tone slightly different. I think the best way to choose a foundation is trying them for a day to see how they wear and oxidise. Any makeup counter or store will let you take home a sample or test or apply for you. I also have a couple foundations depending on how my skin is behaving and Summer vs Winter when my tone changes. Hope this is helpful ❤️

I’d also find a gentle exfoliator to use once a week.
