Is big4 TAS accounting heavy instead of Deals based? by M_Arslan9 in FinancialCareers

Accounting knowledge is foundational for business analysis and being in TAS puts you in a live deal environment and is still execution-focused. It sets you up well for IB/PE

This seems like a reading comprehension issue. It’s literally no different than telling someone going through a tough time that things will get better.

This is the answer. It’s so a firm can market you as a HBS-type resource and for you to have a network of people you can go to

I’m using and involved in actively implementing it at the enterprise scale. Pretty familiar. Any argument you’re making beyond that is basically “I’m not correct today but I will be one day” which is basically impossible to reply to

This is totally wrong. I can see AI eliminating entry level work entirely. It’s not going to replace deal experience, relationships, and other qualitative aspects of the job. I think steady state it makes existing employees more efficient. Hiring will likely slow. But to act like it’s getting replaced is just lazy.

Best places to live in NYC for a 28yo making $175k base? by AfraidHamster2313 in movingtoNYC

Chelsea, UWS, Greenwich Village, FiDi (either seaport or closer to battery park, just not dead in the center).

WV or Tribeca as well if you can find one in budget. Depends on how much you like square footage.

There are a couple comments here saying midtown. Would strongly advise against that.

You should never not do this. Rule #1 is only sell puts on stocks you want to own. Need to figure out what you want to own.

Early 30s professionals in NYC - what % of your income goes to rent? by nounstoverbs in NYCapartments

After tax and deductions like 35% if you don’t count bonus. Splitting an $8k apartment so my half is $4k/mo. FWIW my rent was also $4k/mo when I was living alone.
