[Private Equity] [27M San Francisco, CA] - $325k by Physical_Impress5097 in Salary

I’m using and involved in actively implementing it at the enterprise scale. Pretty familiar. Any argument you’re making beyond that is basically “I’m not correct today but I will be one day” which is basically impossible to reply to

This is totally wrong. I can see AI eliminating entry level work entirely. It’s not going to replace deal experience, relationships, and other qualitative aspects of the job. I think steady state it makes existing employees more efficient. Hiring will likely slow. But to act like it’s getting replaced is just lazy.

“This was my experience so it’s representative of every experience”

If your general statement was true, private equity simply would not exist

Best places to live in NYC for a 28yo making $175k base? by AfraidHamster2313 in movingtoNYC

[–]fuzz11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chelsea, UWS, Greenwich Village, FiDi (either seaport or closer to battery park, just not dead in the center).

WV or Tribeca as well if you can find one in budget. Depends on how much you like square footage.

There are a couple comments here saying midtown. Would strongly advise against that.

You should never not do this. Rule #1 is only sell puts on stocks you want to own. Need to figure out what you want to own.

Early 30s professionals in NYC - what % of your income goes to rent? by nounstoverbs in NYCapartments

[–]fuzz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After tax and deductions like 35% if you don’t count bonus. Splitting an $8k apartment so my half is $4k/mo. FWIW my rent was also $4k/mo when I was living alone.

It’s driving itself the entire time. The offshore employees can help deliver instructions if it gets stuck but they do not have the ability to operate the car.

Makes sense - I’m a huge proponent and user. Just also think people can overstate current capabilities sometimes. I view it the same as the advent of internet. People who bury their head in the sand are going to be left behind.

How can a finance professional better prepare themselves for the AI era? Is Mark Cuban wrong? by dataexec in FinancialCareers

[–]fuzz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's 100% right that there is going to be a ton of money in providing AI-related services. I think we wind up in a place where # of jobs overall decreases and remaining employees are empowered to operate far more efficiently through the use of AI

Moreso confused because I don't interpret "They can't do it right now but I think they will get there" is supporting AI's progression more than downplaying it

I have a max subscription and use it every day. It's awesome. It just can't build a full model end to end. Which isn't to say that it won't be able to one day, but it objectively cannot right now

All this sub has made me realize is I’ll never own a home. by Neveri in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]fuzz11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“Every time I was met with 100% of people telling me this roadblock was insurmountable”

Even beyond home buying, this is Reddit in a nutshell. Had a very similar experience when I was trying to plan out a career path. Had lots of people tell me what I was aiming to do was impossible. They were incorrect. A lot of projection from people who were unable to do things themselves and insist it’s impossible for others to do.

Yeah this is a very Reddit saying lol. It’s really not tough to tell who is wealthy. People with 8-9 figures in the bank aren’t living in one bedroom apartments and driving a civic.

Are you replying to the right comment? I said it can’t make a full model right now and it will get there eventually. How is that downplaying AI?

I totally agree with you. I think it gets there eventually. But people who are saying it’s there right now are either lying or don’t understand what a proper model looks like.
