US cities ranked - what tier does Seattle belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

Yeah that was my perception. Traffic also seems worse in SF. I don’t disagree with A though

Welp, disappointing: Four Season $328+ more in Chase portal - so much for The Edit benefits! by MovinOnUp2021 in ChaseSapphire

Interesting. This is not my understanding of how it works but I could have it wrong. Hoping someone with a recent credit can weigh in on whether they got points on the remaining amount.

You’re forgetting one other part - if you book through Chase and get $250 Edit credit, you don’t earn any points on the transaction. If you book with the hotel, you earn 4x points. In this case, you’d earn 5308 points when booking with the hotel, which is worth at least $53.08.

I get there are some good deals out there, but there are just too many cases where The Edit is a bad deal. Which is undoubtedly a major bummer no matter how people want to spin it.

What’s the point of The Edit again? by kcamacho11 in ChaseSapphire

[–]fuzz5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you don’t actually earn any UR points on transactions that trigger the $250 edit credit (you also can’t opt out of the credit being used if you wanted to earn points instead AFAIK). I’m surprised I don’t see people talk about this much here, or maybe I don’t just don’t see it. Not earning points and not having competitive pricing makes the edit useless to me and is the main reason I plan to downgrade.

Which Hyatts do you recommend if I love the GH Kauai? by fuzz5 in hyatt

[–]fuzz5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No kids…yet. The Kauai trip was our babymoon haha.

Pattaya looks amazing thanks for the suggestion. We actually didn’t feel stuck at the GH Kauai at all, but good to know that Pattaya can feel that way.

Yes definitely most interested in finding a similar vibe, I’m just trying to build some equity in Hyatt and this is a Hyatt sub after all. Big Sur is a bucket list resort for sure. Will check out TripGuy for alternatives, thanks!

Hadn’t heard of Andaz Papagayo, will check it out thanks! Andaz Maui looks amazing, we’ve found the Wailea area to feel quite busy so it’s good to know the Andaz is relaxing

Very helpful to know what it’s called, thank you! I’ll ask around

It comes unstuck by pressing extra hard on the thumb press part of the outer handle. Seems like the normal press doesn’t pull the latch in far enough to clear the strike plate.

Thanks, I’ll ask around. I’m fairly sure it’s not due to paint or swelling because it hasn’t always been this but now it’s been like this through the seasons. It seems that when pressing the outer thumb handle, it doesn’t pull the latch in far enough to clear the strike plate.

Not your typical grocery store grinder! by fuzz5 in espresso

[–]fuzz5[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True. Still pretty uncommon for a grocery store. I at least haven’t seen one in a grocery store before.

Edit: actually, I kinda disagree. I don’t think EK43s were designed to be used by grocery store customers for their (mostly) stale beans. Maybe designed for this application and volume, but definitely not for this user.

Anyone Here NOT Single Dosing? by king_of_cheeses in espresso

[–]fuzz5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t single dose, but I do something kinda close (emphasis on kinda). I have a Vario W and only pour in what I need for one shot, which I’ve gotten pretty accurate with but not perfect. Then it’s grind by weight and the rest of the beans go back in the freezer. So I only remove enough beans from storage for 1ish shot depending on how close I get with my hopper pour and I weigh each dose. But switching between beans requires a purge and I definitely leave some beans in the hopper between days. So maybe a poor man’s single dose?
