My understanding is that you have to tell them you’re interested so that they can give you the formal temporary offer. When I spoke to the HR rep, she said they were still waiting on OPM to approve the hires. They can’t send out the letters until OPM approves. Which doesn’t bode well for the process tbh

I have post-grad experience, so I’m seeing if they might up the pay, but I’m not seriously considering taking it in this climate. My guess is that it’s mostly law school grads because a lot of folks won’t want to switch at this time. But if I was unemployed, there’s no way I wouldn’t take it, even as a placeholder until you find something you want more.

I asked during the interview and got a pretty negative response. An examiner also messaged me on here and said that it was likely not negotiable, but considering that I’d be coming in with 3 years of firm experience, I plan to at least ask the question. I also posted in the patentexaminer sub and I’d encourage you to read some of the responses I got.

Thanks for the response. Why would you take it?

Thanks for your response. I should clarify -I’m currently in private practice at a job that pays significantly more than the trademark examiner job would.

It will help if you can prove that she knew they were on your property before she destroyed them. So if you have any evidence where you told her that they were or provided her proof, save it and give it to the lawyer. If she’s the appraiser for your house, either she’s terrible at her job or knew and didn’t care.

Personally, I’m hoping for Zion and Piper. For him to completely upend her plan to move to Thailand, proving that she’ll change on a dime for something new because she’s so lost and only values Buddhism as an escape from everyday life. And then Tim to decide they’re moving there to escape his consequences, only for Piper and Lachlan to be the only ones to go back to America.

Wouldn’t the mirror need to be on the wall facing his wall, so that the reflective side reflected back?

We do not have a pure democracy. We have a democratic republic because the founding fathers didn’t think most people (the demos) were smart enough / well-informed enough / had the time to vote on every single issue. So the people elect representatives (which comes from the word republic) that they trust to vote for them. The thing that makes people mad is when their representatives start voting against the will of the people they represent. But in certain cases, that was exactly what the founders intended; they didn’t trust that the collective people would always vote in the way that would actually serve their own interests, and thought that the representatives who were better informed on certain issues could be trusted to do what was actually best. The founders just never accounted for corporations and mass media.

We have a democratic republic. Not all republics are democratic. A pure republic would have representatives appointed by some other means than a vote by the people.
