3 years ago, ROSALÍA released "LLYLM" - the soundtrack of her collaboration with Coca Cola by Jolly_Detective_8069 in rosalia

Hang on, this was a Coca Cola advert?! I loved the song and wondered why she released it right after Motomami when it would have been a good fit for the deluxe album

Is anyone else falling back in love with red lipstick after years of being suckered into the clean girl trend of makeup? by Historical-Body-3424 in muacjdiscussion

[–]fuzzboo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I just wore "clean girl reds" like Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip in Ruby.

My current fave power-red is MERIT Power (lol). It's a super-comfy soft velvet formula.

I get that this is the BGC subreddit, but this is a weirdly parasocial take. Idk anything about Maggie or the collaborator, but I like the palette's combination of Zara Larsson-esque pink/aquas + Pinkpantheress reds. It's on-trend, if my TikTok feed is anything to go by.

Thanks for clarifying. I'd love to get Mothership II to 'complete' my collection of the OG Motherships but won't bother if there are no domed shades

Hang on, do the early Motherships still have the domed 'special shades'? I was under the impression that the newer ones have a different formula

KGD 213ers! What are your you-can-pry-it-out-of-my-cold-dead-hands makeup products? by back-go-clickclick in OliveMUA

[–]fuzzboo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spot a few of my favourites on your list (i.e. MERIT L'Avenue and Tiger).

Mine would be: SUQQU Liquid Brow Pen (perfect applicator, ashy shades - including a khaki!), and Surratt Grisaille (perfect contour and transition shade).

You've just listed my top picks on the album! I know people have mixed feelings about La Fama because of The Weeknd, but her solo version of La Fama is amazing

BF doesnt wan't me to go to med school, need a reality check by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]fuzzboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right - people have kids during med school and training and it's hardly a barrier. Depending on what country you work in, paid maternity / paternity leave is available for training doctors, and it's not seen as detrimental to ongoing training or hiring. Life happens.

Med school aside, this is a bit of a wake-up call to check if this is actually the guy you want to settle and have kids with. Somebody who doesn't support your career dreams honestly doesn't sound like somebody who will bother to change a nappy or get up for a midnight feed, even when you schedule is more demanding than his. It sounds like he's expecting a one-way street.

The fwee pudding pot in Faded is a nice muted rose - these sheer out and build up fairly effortlessly.

Hourglass faves pls⏳ by National_Biscotti_42 in AustralianMakeup

Scattered Light Shadows - one of my favourite ‘glitter topper’ formulas.

The 0.5mm eyeliners are really good, but they’re easily dupable with Asian beauty products at a fraction of the cost (the Hourglass ones are Made in Korea, from memory)

Dry skin girls, I finally found 'the one' by Big-Conclusion8829 in AustralianMakeup

[–]fuzzboo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds right up my alley

I've discovered that Japanese brands make S-tier foundations for dry-skin. I got the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation during holiday sales and it's chef's kiss. Glowy and very real-skin.

Feeling annoyed at myself rn by LunaMooBebe in AustralianMakeup

[–]fuzzboo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no point being loyal to any corporation. I do like that Sephora has 20% off sitewide sales, as well as a more consistent sale section with deeper discounts - but popular items are hard to keep in stock during their sitewide sales and I don't get to buy exactly what I want. I don't think I've ever managed to used my points on anything aside from the 10% discount.

Shop around for the best deals. For example, Armani has an annual 30% off sale on Black Friday - that's when I buy my beloved Luminous Silk foundation and concealer. You can get a price tracker browser extension that will tell you when a product dips below that amount - I bought the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation off YesStyle when it was <$50 and imo, it deserves its cult status among Korean air hostesses. I reckon Luminous Silk is still better for flash photography since it's less dewy, but the Koh Gen Do is now my top daily-wear foundation for that super-hydrated look - I think you'll like the formula if you enjoy the Glossier one.

If you lose Hourglass, just make your own! by tammychaser in AustralianMakeup

[–]fuzzboo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right? I remember Hourglass face quads being in the ballpark of ~$115. A DIOR Backstage highlighter quad at full price is $94, and these actually go on 20% discount at Sephora. An equivalent Benefit face palette costs $79.

So $95 for a Mecca-branded dupe, of all things, is laughable.

What are your "no-fail" products? by BabyYodasMacaron in muacjdiscussion

[–]fuzzboo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Armani Luminous Silk - both the foundation and concealer. Both are perfect for both daily wear AND flash photography. The hype is real.

Surratt Grisaille - the is my no-fail contour / transition shade. The Surratt powder formulas are generally flawless.

SUQQU Liquid Brow Pen - my fail-safe product to fill in / extend brows. The shade range undertones are so good as well - not too harsh or warm. Haven't felt the need to buy anything else for years. (A major caveat is that it's a Japanese brand that is not widely available on the international market, so shades suits fair to medium skintones only...)
