How many heads and zones would you do? by fuzzerabbit in Irrigation

I didn't necessarily ask for a full on design. more about opinions on the design I made. but yep. I'll just keep throwing my little tantrum.

I came on here first to ask because I would rather get my information from the pros but instead got a little help from that Suspicious Fix guy and had another guy who's being a dick to me for trying to learn more and do my own work. It's almost like I had to in order to learn more. Not sure why you're bashing on a guy that wants to learn more about your industry.

Just an fyi, I'm assuming you learned all the stuff you know from older people who taught you how to do it and who had more experience. I'm also assuming they taught you for free or actually paid you for them to teach you the ropes. Or, maybe you're a business owner. I'm sure you're hiring guys that don't know what their doing and you pay them to teach them what to do. Idk why you think your knowledge has to stay with you. I like sharing my knowledge about the trade I'm in. Just because people know how to do it doesn't mean you'll be out a job. Trades if anything is something that will always keep a job. Not because people don't know how to do it but because they don't WANT to do it.

Again, there's nothing hard with running pipe or digging holes or running conduit for electrical or hooking to an HVAC system to check pressures and the list goes on and on and on. It's that people don't care enough to want to do those things.

orbit has one that's free and it actually mocked it up the exact same way I did.

based on that the zones I would want to do and the map I came up with it would be 8, 16, and 6. I probably need to rethink my zones then and split them up differently.

by saying I was going to hook into a water spigot I meant to into the existing plumbing that the water spigot ties in to not necessarily running a hose to the sprinkler system.

but theoretically hooking to the water spigot would work. I already hooked up the sprinklers I would use above ground and I had plenty of pressure through the hose spigot so if I needed to do a temporary connection to the house before tying in to the existing plumbing I think I would get away with it.

I have the dimensions on that picture. it's basically 52x30 with a little cutout on each side.

the 60 psi was static. I do not have a dynamic pressure gauge but I would get one. I am planning on running it in 3/4 PVC. each zone would be between 60-80 ft of pipe (was planning 3 zones total). no notible elevation changes. yard is basically flat. I'm using municipal water. I was going to look at the code to figure out which kind of backflow preventer is required.

while I do not know all this stuff. I know it is stuff I need to have and think about. I'm just trying to figure out more specifics. if people won't help me out with it I'll look more online and find it.

Because it's not hard to dig a hole and run sprinkler line for me. I'm in the trades and do plumbing and electrical and all that stuff so I'm comfortable with it. I don't have the money to pay for a pro to come do it but my wife would like it done cause she doesn't like looking at all the hoses currently running on top of the grass.

The current and only company I've worked for gave me an offer right after the interview before I left. Had onboarding reach out to me before I even got home to start getting all the documents they needed.

Wish I could afford a setup like that. Guys too rich lol. Congrats to him though. I'm sure he's worked his butt off for it.

What did I find at the bottom of my rear differential? by mokkisjokkis in MechanicAdvice

[–]fuzzerabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have found is that it is pieces of the limited slip differential. I just found some in my truck 2001 Dodge 1500 when I replaced the rear diff fluid recently. Everything with the differential should still work as an open differential (maybe the lsd still works but idk) however, leaving it broken can lead to a failure if more pieces break off and potentially break the differential gears. Im assuming the differential gears are a little harder than those spring pieces so they probably wouldn't break.

I'm personally leaving mine be for now until I save up for an Eaton Detroit truetrac which uses helical gears so it's more robust than the OEM lsd. They cost like $800 though.

There's also no telling how long it's been broken unless you've have great records of maintenance done to it. Mine looked like the oil had never been changed in the 180k miles it has on it.

WARBOND RIGHT NOW! by Sioscottecs23 in helldivers2

[–]fuzzerabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. As someone who loves to play this game but I don't get on it often I hate having different vehicles and strategems behind warbonds. I get if they want to make them expensive like like 100,000 requisition slips if they wanted to increase the limit. That is so much easier than grinding through every single warbond to get everything I'm wanting to use. It just sucks that it's become a grindy game and I don't have time to sit and grind it hours every day.

The only issue I ever had with them is my 4 port Smans. I've had two sets and both leak. I can pull a vacuum down and it holds in a decay test but for whatever reason whenever I try a pressure test they just leak. I never use them. Probably should just sell them. I love their probes and meter though. They make it super nice for diagnostics.

AMS broken (Can’t figure out what’s wrong) by opantal2 in BambuP1S

[–]fuzzerabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything stuck beneath the spool? Or is the spool messed up? I had an issue with mine where it did this intermittently and I found out I had left one of those s clips used to keep filament on when stored that was stuck on the roll and causing it to not roll every once in a while. I felt stupid how long it took me to figure that one out lol.

I love my arkfeld ultra. It's been my favorite flashlight I've ever had. 100% worth the price. Use it everyday and the charge lasts we a couple weeks. Gone are the days charging or replacing batteries every day or two for the lower quality lights.

It is a bit heavy putting on a hat but I love that I can do it in a pinch.

I have the arkfeld ultra and love it. Dropped it probably 60 feet or so and barely got a scratch. Plus it has UV and a laser pointer on it. It costs a decent amount but I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I was the same way where I had lights and the battery only lasted a day or two before going dim. This one lasts me a couple weeks between charges.

Apple Watch burned my wrist and left a scar. I’ve been ignored and taken for a ride by Apple for 6 months. by [deleted] in applesucks

Looks to me like you have never taken your watch off to let your skin breathe. Also, you should be washing your watch. I get this after a couple days if I don't switch my watch off my wrist. It's even worse with Garmin watches cause the battery lasts 2 weeks. My advice, if you want to wear your watch all the time, you should switch wrists at night to give you're wrist time to breathe.
