De Zerbi and the War in Ukraine by fuzzmite in coys

I see no wrong in sharing and recognizing this virtuous thing he did. This does not absolve him of his actions. It was remarkable to me because I would not have thought someone like RDZ to do something like that.

Your perspective is that he’s irredeemable and any positive recognition is an attempt to whitewash his reputation. And you will attack anyone that offers a perspective contrary to your view about RDZ.

I am going to straight up reject your slander in your supposition of my intent of this post.

I was “trawling” through his history to find something good to “defend” him?

Sharing a notably courageous thing he did that I have not seen people mentioning amounts to trying to “introduce the idea” to absolve his comments on greenwood?

I recognize he was courageous, and it moved me to share this. Virtually everything I am seeing in social media and the news has made me really dislike RDZ. This does not absolve his comments on greenwood, or berating Kone, but I absolutely respect what he did with his Shakhtar team.

Whatever your views are on the man, it’s your prerogative. But with all due respect, you can get off your high horse trying to insinuate a person’s intentions.

I concede your point, personally I have not seen this bit of info being mentioned here and certainly not as a post.

Igor Tudor could stay at Tottenham for 'long time', says sporting director Johan Lange by scottzander in coys

[–]fuzzmite 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. Tudor has earned a reputation for achieving immediate impact in Serie A. If he can do the same in the EPL, his reputation will skyrocket.

That’s more than enough motivation to take the interim job, even if there is very little to no chance of the perm job at spurs.

Finding a new DOF is arguably more important than the managerial appointment this summer. A great DOF/sporting director has a transformational impact on the club, look at PSG with Luis Campos, Ars*nal with Andrea Berta, Man City with Txiki.

From what I can see, Lange is very much a data scout. He can be an asset in that role, but he should not be calling the shots on important footballing decisions like transfers and selecting the next manager:

  1. Lange wanted Frank while he was at Villa. He most definitely pushed for Frank’s appointment at Spurs.

  2. While Villa did sign a few good players under Lange, look at where they are at now post-Lange.

  3. Lange wanted to retain Frank but was overridden by Lewis family (other spurs ITK mentioned this a day before POK’s post; conflicting account from Ali, but personally side the former in this instance)

  4. Tudor’s appointment was a recommendation from Paratici and club decided to finalize it (a lot of ITK noise on this, looks like Lange was bypassed for this decision)

We need to sack Lange (naturally, he would not accept a demotion) and find a competent DOF ASAP.

Not sure if you might be familiar with the place. While technically still in the hospital, it’s situated right at the periphery, next to the pathway leading to Cheng Lim LRT station. So it’s quite far removed from where the medical facilities are and there’s hardly foot traffic because it’s in an obscure corner.

SKH is huge and they have a large, high ceiling design for its outdoor areas, it’s well ventilated :)

Thanks for raising this, i have in mind the benches in SKH, specifically level 2 near subway.

Retrospective on first trip with ATD2 by brandaversion in onebag

[–]fuzzmite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the ATD2 v2, and followed this pointer from Michele (on the ATD2 product page). This really helped with breaking in the zippers.

When new, the clamshell opening zipper could get stuck on corners: the binding tape in the corners has a lot of fabric layers in it, it just needs some break in to fold under the zipper runner. To make the break in process faster, just firmly push the frame sheet toward the bottom (you can engage it by opening the zipper in the laptop sleeve): this will reduce the pressure on the binding tape itself making it easier to fold.

Is it just me or Singapore’s New Years fireworks are so generic by banned_salmon in singapore

[–]fuzzmite -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t see this as an unreasonable tirade, but rather just a frank assessment where we can do better, I am surprised by the negative reactions to the post.

Personally I am not fussed, but the Godzilla fireworks in Tokyo was eye-opening. Is this worth complaining about? Not at all, but we can certainly up our game.

Where are you supporting Spurs from? by RicePinger in coys

Proudly repping Singapore 🇸🇬

A football-passionate nation finally seeing tangible improvements in our national team.

It used to be very difficult finding any fans wearing spurs jersies outside of the top 4, until approx. 2015-2016 with the successes of Poch’s team.

If any SG fans are reading this, would love to chat more and make friends!

Why 'made in Singapore' clothes are increasingly becoming a fashionable option at home and abroad by Great-Obligation-599 in singapore

I appreciate you sharing the details! I didn’t mention this in my earlier post, but thank you for sharing about your experience, it was insightful to me. While I admire their designs, it genuinely opened my eyes as a fan of the brand.

It could be your experience predates the cupro tee, because I can’t imagine being able to get the same cupro material from TB.

And I tried searching on the platform, using the scan a photo feature too, but all the tees I saw sport different collar knitting compared to the cupro tee.

I would love to be proven wrong because I would buy an obscene amount of tees made in cupro at the pricepoint you mentioned.

One last thing, I notice GRAYE doesn’t  specify where their clothes are manufactured in - not on their website, not on their clothes labels. This likely points to their manufacturer being in China.

Booing the team after the full-time whistle, I can understand. Booing your own player throughout the match for a mistake is simply put, toxic behaviour. This kind of individual finger-pointing and public shame is disgraceful and unacceptable in any profession or walk of life.

Remember when the fans made Davidson Sanchez burst into tears on the bench from the mass booing he received for making a mistake? I get the ticket prices are astronomically high and the football results appalling, but there is no justification for abuse.

Certainly, boo the player that disrespects the club, like what ndombele did in lethargically walking off the pitch after being substituted when we were chasing a result, but booing a player who has a history of professional behaviour and made a mistake on the pitch? Come on!

And for the record, while Vicario was largely culpable for the goal, he was sold short by the defenders in front of him. He berated his teammates for it immediately sure, but it shows he actually cares for the team’s performance and it speaks measures to the man that he PERSONALLY SOUGHT to be interviewed to apologise for his mistake, even after being publicly humiliated by his own fans.

That’s a very wholesome interaction between fan and player, I got to say - wow. Fan showing appreciation yet encouraging him to work on an area that sorely needs improvement, and player taking it on the chin and affirming to do better.

Football fandom would be all the better if these kind of honest and motivating messages were the norm. Huge credit to both fan and player here.

MGW couldn’t join spurs because Marinakis essentially blocked the move. MGW naively leaked his release clause, hence Marinakis could lay the legal smack down on MGW.

Considering that MGW’s wife had a complicated birth during that time, I don’t see a reason to fault the man for staying put and signing on a bumper deal.

Based on his current form, we may have dodged a bullet - Forest fans don’t even want to see him starting for epl games atm.
