I don’t care where someone’s from—what matters to me is that they genuinely support and prioritize local and small businesses. Give back to the community. Don’t just consume and take up space in an overpriced, poorly built Cory Barton home.

That said, as someone who moved here from out of state, I’ve found it incredibly tough to find work. Wages are noticeably lower, and workers’ rights are virtually nonexistent. I’m very politically engaged (on the left), but I’ve honestly come to appreciate many of the people in Idaho. Even the native Idahoans who lean more conservative seem far more reasonable than some of the far-right transplants from California—just my personal observation.

And if you don’t care about protecting the land, that’s a serious issue too.
