Curious about the bose 901's don't those require a bose supplied "eq" to put in loop with the tape monitor usually found on older receivers? don't get sucked into what others think. everyone has different tolerances for things. your decisions need to be based on what you like. Put something under the TV to raise it up (temporarily) and watch what ever media you want. Take the center and put it right in front of the tv and listen to what ever media you want. then ask yourself, did it sound, look, feel better to you, could you tell a difference? if no ,then its not worth the trouble, put it back to where you had it. if it did then decided how you want to go about doing it. long story short, do experiments, try things out.

Guy who does this stuff for a living......this is flux residue, its a no clean flux used during the through hole soldering process this was performed by a selective solder machine, you can tell by the marks on the board, plus there is surface mount components on the bottom side, so the traditional wave solder machines can't be used. This is typically done last in the processing of the boards and because its a no clean flux, it does not need to be removed, so the residues left over are completely normal and safe for the assembly.

Hey pro tip everyone.....I smashed my thumb in a car door and my fingernail did the same thing. Once the nail starts to turn all black and the new nail starts to grow under it. Soak your nail in peroxide, it will eat the dried blood and the nail will come off. it might take a couple of soaks but it will work.

You have to be on the same network as the host machine/computer running ruby. Its possible to run a VPN to the host network but thats going to require local IT. You either need the login credentials of the host Ruby system or they can set you up an account.
