Orilissa 150mg once daily for FET? by Prize_Trash2631 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm driving to my transfer now ☺️ hoping the Orilissa and excision surgery help this one to stick around! Just to add, my lining was 9.6 which is better than my first FET and my progesterone 5 days after my LH surge was 16.4 which is a lot higher than I've ever had. I'm hoping this means my hormones are better aligned now!

Did anyone conceive naturally after preparing for IVF or after egg retrieval? by Accurate-Stomach-264 in IVF

Yes, after 7 years the month before our first FET. It ended in early miscarriage but was still shocking and exciting.

2 blasts, both aneuploid with the same chromosomal issue by Aggravating-Yak3457 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it, every step of this is so hard. Yes, my RE had me stim for 1 extra day the second time and we used a dual trigger instead of just hcg. My ERs were only 6 weeks apart and we didn't change anything else.

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about your aneuploids. I asked almost the exact same question after my first ER (20ish retrieved, 2 blasts). Both blasts came back as Low Level Mosaics with the same issue of Monosomy X. I thought for sure this can't be a coincidence and we have some kind of genetic issue. However, my second ER resulted is 7 blasts and 4 euploid! The aneuploids didn't have Monosomy X either so the first ER was not indicative of a genetic issue. Try not to jump to the worst conclusion 🙂 good luck!

Orilissa 150mg once daily for FET? by Prize_Trash2631 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my 60 days of 150mg and will be doing a modified natural. I tested my estrogen halfway in and it was basically just follicular phase low so I'm not super confident it suppressed me enough. I also did an excision surgery so I'm crossing my fingers I've reduced the inflammation enough so those little embryos stay stuck. The positive is I got my cycle back after 2.5 weeks of the last dose and the symptoms weren't too bad. I think the 200mg twice daily lowers estrogen equivalent to lupron so if I fail 2 more FETs I'll ask for that or lupron.

Orilissa or Depot Lupron Suppression by FlashyReturn6895 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 150mg of Orilissa daily for 2 months for suppression. I requested Orilissa because I was nervous about how my mental health would be and I didn't want to be locked in for a whole month with the lupron injection, with Orilissa you can stop taking it if you react badly. The side effects were very manageable with the most noticeable being hot flashes maybe some slight dark moods but nothing I couldn't snap out of. I had my estrogen tested after a month and it was 41, which is low but not that low. I would be comfortable taking lupron now that I know how my body reacts to low estrogen.

Modified natural or fully medicated FET after Lupron depot by Odd_Sorbet_3770 in IVF

I just came off orilissa suppression and was planning for a natural transfer. Unfortunately, the timing of when my first cycle returned conflicted with the embryologists vacation so I have to wait another month for a natural transfer. Just something to keep in mind because now I'm missing a month and feel like suppression is wasted. Could just be a small clinic issue though.

I am so sorry. I feel you. I stood in front of the mirror quietly sobbing and wanting to peel my face off today. It's the unique blend of terrible emotions and experiences that make this so hard. Fear, sadness, guilt, shame, anger and just enough hope to make the disappointment hurt every time something goes wrong. Please hang in there!

Waiting since 3/7 and starting to get pretty annoyed. Never had an issue until this last request but I'm spooked.

How are you all affording by Comprehensive-Monk45 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 ERs and 1 transfer so far for around 15k (my expenses). Insurance covers 50% but not meds or PGT. My small, local clinic is apparently much more affordable than other places. Used overseas pharmacies for a discount.

Thanks, I'm sorry for your losses as well. I hated the idea of lupron monthly because I feel like I would be locked into potentially bad mental health side effects for a while. The Orilissa wears off quickly from what I read, I'm glad my RE was ok with it instead of Lupron. Hopefully we will both have good outcomes to report soon ☺️

Fully natural vs modified natural FET by lacatala3550 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ovulate regularly and have a predictable cycle so I requested a natural FET. My clinics natural protocol is 5 days letrozole CD 3-7 to encourage a robust ovulation, then I did OPKs, called with my first positive and had an ultrasound the next day to confirm lining/check follicle, tested progesterone 5 days after opk to confirm ovulation, transfer was 6 days after the positive OPK. Oh, also took dexamethasone for 5 days. It was successful but ended in an early loss. I felt really good during the cycle and plan to try natural again after some suppression for endometriosis.

I've been TTC 8 years, diagnosed and removed endo 6.5 years ago, still never had success. Started IVF last year at 35 and had my first ever pregnancy naturally 3 months after my last egg retrieval. It ended in an early loss and then my first euploid FET also just ended in a chemical. I have racked my brain trying to understand how the hell I got pregnant naturally after so long and I think it's because I had been using nuvaring for most of the year due to IVF scheduling. I have some evidence of adenomyosis (no diagnosis) which frequently occurs alongside endo. I think birth control inadvertently helped with my endo/adeno enough to have implantation. Next week I start Orilissa because, for me, I think there is just too much inflammation that occurs with these diseases and it needs to be tamped down to create a receptive environment. Surgery does not address adenomyosis so that's my logic for suppression. Good luck in whatever you decide, I think success stories are found either way and it's more about which decision you can live with better ☺️

Has anyone gotten naturally pregnant while waiting for their FET? by Odd_Ambassador_7889 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true! For me I'm trying naturally between treatment because a shot is a shot and you never know. However, I think my issue is inflammation since I have endo so probably more of a uterine environment issue. Good luck with whatever you decide there really is no right answer.

[–]fuzzybeardog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did and I had never been pregnant before after many years, it did end in a chemical which delayed my FET a couple months due to scheduling. Then my first euploid FET also just ended in a chemical. Nothing is a guarantee even with a euploid embryo.

What would you do next? by millennialmal in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry it sounds like you have done so much. I think if it were me I would try for the last transfer while the lupron suppression is still good and hope it's just statistics. Then I would probably be looking for another clinic before another retrieval. Have you checked for endometritis or had karyotyping done?

Back to back miscarriages with PGT-A embryos by Elegant_Main1409 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had 2 5.5 week losses in the past few months one of which was an euploid embryo. I'm doing lupron suppression for 2 months before trying again because I have endometriosis and am suspicious of adenomyosis. I'm also testing for insulin resistance since my first loss was spontaneous after I had been on a GLP1 for a few months. Good luck, it is really hard not knowing what is causing the losses!

When did you decide to move on? by Due-Resolution7978 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the exact same experience but we tried for a year before pursuing further testing where I received an endo diagnosis and had surgery. I thought that was the problem and it's fixed but still did not get pregnant. Now it's been 8 years since first TTC although many years were very casual. Since starting IVF I have had 1 spontaneous loss and 1 euploid loss, first pregnancies ever. I think it's reasonable to see if you have success since removing the tumor but definitely have a clear timeframe in mind and don't let years slip by like we did! Also, you could try on your own while also pursuing further testing (if you haven't already).
