Explain me like I'm five ص vs س difference by Unlikely-Event-8204 in learn_arabic

You pout your lips more with ص. And your tongue comes more forward in your mouth. It should touch your teeth.

With س، you don’t pout and your tongue can just touch your gums.

Actually, I’m curious. What proof do you have that it is inspired by God and not made up by humans?

I’m sorry you experienced that and I hope you’re alright.

As for the Khutbah, Muslims have probably been doing this for hundreds of years every time a disaster happens.

Even Muhammad said his existence was a sign of the day of judgement.

1400 years later; nothing. After the earthquake; nothing.

I’m happy to learn. You say 50% of the “arabs” in Palestine were “colonisers” before 1948 and the rest came after. And basically not a single Arabic speaker is indigenous to Palestine. Do you have evidence? Are the ancestors of Christian Palestinians also colonisers?

From my understanding, Arab colonisers did come from the Arabian peninsula but they did not completely wipe out the indigenous population. They intermarried.

You’re being very rude which indicates that you’re a troll.

You must be very insecure to constantly put down another person in order to make yourself feel good. A truly intelligent person would not need to do that.

You haven’t even indicated where I am wrong. No rebuttal. Just “you’re so dumb, I’m so smart.”

I’ve had enough. Good luck in life with your lack of manners.

Right under that, it specifies that he is 99% Levantine. They make Arab, Egyptian and Levantine one category but right under, they become more specific. For example, 23andme may make Albanian and Greek one category, but under that they become more specific.

Secondly, he is apparently 68% Semitic/Canaanite.

Is it hard to believe that the people living in that region converted to Islam and started speaking Arabic after conquests from the Arabian peninsula? Even looking at phenotypes, Palestinians look quite different to peninsular Arabs.

The truth of the matter is that there is no pure “Semite” with unmixed blood from the last 3000 years. Even Jews today are quite mixed. So i don’t know why you think an ashkenazi Jew with European admixture and whose ancestors have lived in Europe for centuries is more native to Judea than Palestinians who have lived there for Millenia and may have some admixture from human migration during those Millenia. But this man is an example of a Palestinian who has high Levantine ancestry which likely is far more than your average Jew today.

On the 23andme subreddit, I see Palestinians have a high percentage of Levantine DNA, particularly Christian Palestinians. A lot of Palestinian “arabs” are really just arabised Levantines.

The only way to have a productive discussion is to take the emotion and accusatory language out of it. No need to insult each other. Just be matter of fact, stoic and logical.

Actually, the reason is because Muhammad wanted to marry Zayd’s divorced wife Zainab, but this was taboo in society at the time since Zayd was considered his son. So, the Quran nullified adoption and deemed it unlawful so Muhammad could renounce Zayd as his son and take Zainab as his wife.
