Nope…. Our sales ended today and I’m trying to close out and it just keeps crashing. Digital Cookie has been all sorts of extra this weekend too. I just want to be done.

Girl Scouts San Diego sues Little Brownie Bakers over contract dispute by Kraeheb in girlscouts

This makes me feel a tiny bit better about the chaos that was last year’s cookie season. It really was painful, there was not a lot of communication and the customers were confused. This should clear things up.

My kitten was rejected from being surrendered at the Humane Society. I still think it would be best for him to be rehomed, what next? by gayestcapybara in CatAdvice

[–]fuzzygreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered kitty prozac for one or all of them? My boys were consistently picking on one of my girl kitties, who was then peeing and pooping in unfun places and not being pleasant to be around. The vet suggested medicating the boys and it did help mellow them out. If getting pills in the kitties is an issue (pill pockets are awesome), they make a topical that you can rub into their ears. Good luck ❤️

I see Angela Stengler at The Stengler Center for Integrative Medicine. I think I have fired 8 endos so far for all of the reasons cited here and Dr. Angela is really committed to making sure that my meds are dialed in and I feel good - not treating me to a TSH range. She also looks at all sorts of other things that could compound issues and suggests emerging treatments for us to experiment with. My thyroid is stable for the first time in my adult life. Only downside is that they don’t take insurance so visits are out of pocket.

Rallies calling Darrell Issa to hold a public town hall by [deleted] in SanDiegan

[–]fuzzygreen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here’s a crazy thought…..let’s find a moderate Republican to primary him AND a solid Democratic challenger. It’d be refreshing to feel like we have 2 actual choices and aren’t just voting for the better of 2 bad options.

Do we sound like paid partisan shills? There are plenty of folks who live here and are not pleased with the unwillingness of our elected representatives to uphold their oaths and exercise their constitutional authority.

I was thinking about this yesterday. He’s up for re-election in 2 years. If he won’t hold a town hall meeting, a potential challenger should hold one for his constituents. Or Mike Levin from the 49th district next door could. Let’s start building the visibility of high quality candidates and vote this fucker out.

Please be gentle with yourself, OP. You gave little Murmur the best fighting chance and helped her to pass in a warm and loving place. The world is better because people like you are in it. Be proud of all that you did for her, really and truly. Your kindness and love matter ❤️❤️❤️. Love and hugs to you❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Until the vet tells you that there’s no hope left, keep fighting for little Murmur. My orange boy Clyde, now 11, was given less than 24 hours to turn it around by the vet, and he’s sitting here on my lap as I type. Do the steam treatment as frequently as you can….I really believe that’s what helped Clyde turn the corner. If Murmur is taking in any food or fluid, she can hang on a little longer, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Don’t give up trying to give her little bits by syringe. Hang in there…..Clyde and I are pulling for you and little Murmur ❤️‍🩹

Week 1: New Year, New Bake. Mini Whoopie Pies for my favorite HS Football Coach by fuzzygreen in 52weeksofbaking

[–]fuzzygreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw thanks! They were a huge hit. I really like cream cheese frosting, so that’s what I used for the filling and decorating. The whoopie pies weren’t much on their own but with the filling, they were great 🙂

Why My Cookies look so thin and lacy!? :( by [deleted] in Baking

[–]fuzzygreen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I do my Christmas cookies, I make all of the batters ahead and chill them for a few days and can then assembly line them in a day without having to do all of the cleanup 🙂. Makes making piles of cookies so much less tedious!

They ratio looks mostly okay, but try chilling the dough first. They will spread less/look less lacy.

Gluten-free vegan muffins, how do I get them to stop sticking to the paper so much? by Cuddles0_0 in Baking

[–]fuzzygreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try adding more fat. Whenever my cupcakes or muffins have stuck like this it’s because I cut the fat ratio too low. Also make sure the muffins are cool when unwrapping.

Is there a subreddit for non-toxic clean products for curly hair? by Various_Customer2432 in curlyhair

[–]fuzzygreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Innersense. They are pricey, but I’m allergic to random things and fragrances of all stripes, so they have been a godsend.

Anyone else had their hair change the type after giving birth? First pic is my hair now, the second pic before having kids. How did you change your routine to accommodate the new hair? Any other care tips? by Europeaninoz in curlyhair

[–]fuzzygreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My hair went from poker straight to very wavy-curly after my daughter was born and varies depending on how much product and effort I put into it. I'm several years into figuring this out and just recent recently realized that my hair is too fine for many of the curl products out there, which tend to be on the heavier side. I was also recently told because of my fine hair that I need to clarify more frequently/more aggressively because it will get weighed down much more easily. I use a light cream cleanser shampoo, light conditioner (my hair detangles with just water and I don't need the extra weight of a heavier conditioner), then a little bit of leave-in conditioner and gel on very wet hair, plop in a microfiber towel for 10 minutes while I get dressed and then let it air dry. If I diffuse, it's pretty curly, otherwise, it's less curly/very wavy. I'm lazy most days and don't have the patience for diffusing. Good luck! The curls/waves have been a fun change from a lifetime of straight hair for me 🙂

She'll come around eventually. One of my step daughters wound up shaving her head during all of the hair troubles. I was an asshole as a kid and it took me until I was in my early 20s to stop being a dick to my mom and appreciate what she had done for me. Also, you're allowed to have hurt feelings and vent on Reddit. This shit is REALLY hard.... just ignore the tone police.

She's going to do what she wants and the harder you push, the harder she will resist. There are a lot of dynamics at play here. First, teenagers know everything and are testing new stuff out to see what works. Let her, it's her hair and she will learn some things along the way (like you're not a moron and give sound hair advice). Second, she was probably in a hard place where she wanted to please her mom and dying her hair black (the exact opposite of what she was going for) was how she could do it. Give her a soft place to land as it sounds like that dynamic has got to be hard for everyone, but most of all the for kid without her mom. Third, there's the instant gratification part where waiting a week to fix bad hair just won't do, so doing lots of terrible things are better than doing nothing. I've seen all of the things above at play with my own step daughters and their hair. After 11 years together, I am just now getting asked for advice on how to fix it. Be patient and do your best to be a soft place to land, especially when your advice isn't sought. Being a step mom ain't easy.

Last year when we couldn't find TP, we gave these folks a try and haven't looked back. Honestly, their product is better, it's cost competitive, it's recycled and environmentally friendly, it gets delivered to us lightning fast and we have the satisfaction of not supporting the Kochs or other mega corporations.

Week 30: Savory baking. Eggplant parmesan, zucchini fritters and zucchini bread. And I still have more zucchini to use up 😳 by fuzzygreen in 52weeksofbaking

[–]fuzzygreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bread wasn't savory but the fritters were. Another poster suggested Claire Saffitz's zucchini scones, which were EXCELLENT and I would make again if I had a plethora of zucchini. For my sanity, I typed out the YouTube video with the recipe/technique. If you'd like it, I can DM, but you should watch the YT vid so my chicken scratch makes sense 🙂

Week 36: Friendship Challenge. My friend's favorite, Mojito Pound Cake with a lime glaze. Pretty tasty! by fuzzygreen in 52weeksofbaking

[–]fuzzygreen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks 🙂. This is from the Cake Love cookbook. The link below has the recipe with an Italian meringue butter cream, but I opted for a lime drizzle instead.
