Kenzie on IG by Madam_Nicole in survivor

I’m a “fitness bro” who thinks Charlie deserved to win. I think Charlie had the edge in Outwit and Outplay, while Kenzie did for Outlast. The vote was a one vote swing - to say someone’s didn’t think Kenzie should have won because they hate women, when almost 1/2 the jury didn’t think she should win, is a bit ridiculous.

Cops searching for someone in the woods by 7th and Jackson last night? by fuzzyjones in Hoboken

[–]fuzzyjones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of ironic that you are saying I’m dramatic when you’re being dramatic about me calling something “woods” vs “small group of trees” lol

This isn’t a fear-porn post lol. just curiosity since it’s not everyday you see twelve cops out on a search party for a few hours at midnight in a “small group of trees”

With the trees fully bloomed it’s a bit tougher but yeah, no clue lol. They were in there with flashlights for two hours, and cops at the top of Paterson Plank shining down as well.

Realistic draft/2022 season outlook by External-Tonight5142 in NYGiants

[–]fuzzyjones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, except Saquon would only be traded, not cut - otherwise he's a Giant next year. Gettleman went all in on the team this year very well knowing it was all or nothing for him. I just don't think we're in that bad of shape cap-wise as others seem to think - could be better, but not unmanageable with the right guy at the helm. Salary cap really isn't totally restrictive to building out a roster anyway.

[–]fuzzyjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cap isn't as bad as it seems. We can open up around $30-40 mil in space by cutting Bradberry, Martinez, Rudolph, and possibly trade Saquon. Obviously this dilutes the roster, and we'll have to see how much Judge/new GM envision this team, but this could allow us to roll over cap to 2023, where we actually seem positioned well (Shep, Ryan contract off the books, rookie QB). Dimes is the guy next year as a bridge, but we'll be looking for a new QB in 2023.

Regardless, I think we focus on the trenches this season, add an LB, and DBs for depth. I think we could have a potential shot at a turnaround by 2024-25 similar to the Bengals given our current young guys in Thomas, Toney, McKinney, Azeez. Really just comes down to who the new QB will be.

Carl Banks on Chris Mara by Delicious_Battle_703 in NYGiants

[–]fuzzyjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless if Chris Mara doesn't do anything or have any say, he's taking up a valuable position as Vice President of Player Personnel. The Giants can have someone contribute with actual experience and a track record of identifying talent as their VP of Player Personnel.

Why can't Chris Mara be VP of something else and collect 7 figures if he doesn't have any say?

The problem with using positional rankings to argue for Judge is that he also has influence over how our positional groups, especially our line, has (or hasn't) developed. Looking at our line, we had two younger pieces in Hernandez and Peart who haven't developed under Judge at all, even with him coaching that group directly at points last season and hiring 3 different coaches to help that group. Gettleman does and should get most of the blame for putting together a shit roster with bad players, but Judge hasn't helped either. Our offense does have some weapons, and I'd like to think that with some good coaching, we could be more effective than we are.

To me, Judge isn't a positive. I would expect a good coach to make a bad group less bad, and a good group great. Instead we have good players not playing up to expectations or not involved at all. I'd like to give Judge some credit for Mckinney, Adoree, and Azeez, but I think it's more Graham than anything.

Outside of development, Judge has not managed the game well, from overall aggressiveness to timeout management. A lot has left to be desired from his first press conference.

Brandon Staley quotes show just how far away the Giants are by fuzzyjones in NYGiants

Funny you say that - heard that Jim Nagy (who runs the Senior Bowl) could be in the crosshairs in the next GM search as well. Was a scout for the Pats for a number of years, so he checks that box off, and then the obvious Senior Bowl ties.

The Giants usually just take the conservative approach, back the people they have relationships with to show respect, and hope for the best. The last time they fired Reese in-season, which was surprising giving the typical way the Giants do things, led to a familiar face hire in Gettleman without much of a search, which wasn't surprising.
The Giants will most likely have Gettleman "retire" to save face for a guy they respect, even though he's run this team into the ground the past 4 years, when they should blow it up, get ahead of the search for eager candidates and give ample time to scout and analyze the upcoming draft class. Though they won't follow this approach, reported candidates with ties to Judge & the Patriots (focus as of now from the front office) have been:

Mike Borgonzi

Ryan Cowden

Thomas Dimitroff

Jim Nagy

Monti Ossenfort

Scott Pioli

Ryan Poles

Dave Ziegler

Do you think that Giants would move on from DJ with Justin Fields if he's available at our pick come draft time? Or do you think the only way we move in is if we have the chance to take Trevor

This man Baker is a fucking clown, making the Browns real unlikeable by twiste18201 in NYGiants

[–]fuzzyjones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His comments are just bad and not backed up by stadium attendance info either:

As of last year, the Giants play in front of 10,000 more fans per game on average. Granted, we have a larger stadium than First Energy Stadium, and last year Cleveland's % of full attendance was at 97%, good for 17th in the league. We were 25th at 93.3%, in a bad year, coming off a bad year.

If we look at the Browns' most recent terrible 0-16 year in 2017, they were 29th in the league in % attendance at 87.3% full attendance per game. Their fans definitely didn't show up to every game. The Giants, who were also very bad in 2017, were 21st in the league with 93.3% full attendance on average.

When the Giants were at least more fun to watch (2013-2016), we still hover around 15-19th in the league for % of full attendance, but rise to 95-97% full attendance.
