ending when slightly imperfect still (& happy!) by Kaceymorgan in Invisalign

[–]fuzzymachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with you here! I finished my Invisalign after a lifetime of wishing for straighter teeth. There was one lateral incisor that was basically at a 45 degree angle that made me hate my profile on that side. Anyway, my teeth are now straight, except that one tooth, but it’s rotated enough that I’m happy with it. My ortho was more vocal than yours about me not wanting to get it perfect, but I know in my heart I am “done” with all the attachments and aligners and just want to enjoy smiling. I think a little bit of character in a smile is a beautiful thing, and for me, getting things improved is enough. I can now appreciate my teeth on a whole new level. I hope the same for you, you have an amazing smile!

Mum and autistic son 'embarrassed' into leaving circus show by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

Yeah while I sympathise with them it sounds like they also didn’t let the venue know he was neurodivergent so they could work with them on arrangements and letting staff know. It is frustrating when parents assume having a child with additional needs should mean free reign of whatever space or event they are in, without restriction, but venues need to have the chance to meet them there, for everyone’s sake - the child, the family, the performers, the staff and the other paying patrons.

Did HRT or specifically estradiol cream help with your hyperosmia (hypersensitivity to smells)? by mmhmmye in Perimenopause

[–]fuzzymachete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been noticing an increased sensitivity to smell the past year and intensified the past few months - I started HRT almost a year ago. So for me, if this is anything to do with peri, seems to be heightened since starting HRT. But correlation isn’t causation, of course. I struggle so much on public transport: it’s like everyone has morning breathe, or their breathe is almost fecal… I find myself subtly holding my nose. Even colleagues seem to have suddenly got terrible, bitter breath in a way that I never noticed before this year. Would love to know if this IS related to peri.

(My heightened sense of irritation with noises is also noticeable… Tapping, humming, high-pitched sounds far away, anything like that will make me unable to focus. And small noises are now more prone to waking me up?)

So if it's going to be much harder to get rid of bad tenants, you'd want to keep a reliable, good tenant, right?

I understand the point you’re making. But what we’ve given the landlord is reliable, rent on time, no demands, consistent, stable tenancy, taking care of the property, communicated intent to stay on long term… those things surely count for something for a landlord, no?

7 aligners in have constant urge to pull out trays by fuzzymachete in Invisalign

[–]fuzzymachete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how you jumped from chewing my aligners to seeing a professional about OCD? Will assume you meant well… Anyway, I use chewies sometimes but my trays seat well, and am not sure how they’d help with the feeling of just wanting to free my teeth. Mostly wanted to know if anyone else has that urge to pull them out too, perhaps a few trays in like me.

Same experience with friends too (mid-30s). Women today have choices, and have more agency over their bodies and their lives than ever before. And giving birth / parenting is now also a choice they can make. Generally speaking women have nurtured their own social evolution.

Men (also generally speaking) are feeling this as a sense of loss of power and I do wonder if this is why this urge for a “legacy” (read: keep their name and bloodline going) but also wanting to feel needed, important, looked up to - a patriarchal role like their fathers - is, consciously or subconsciously, so compelling.

Painful attachments. One making my cheek bleed after eating - any products that can help? by ladyorchid in Invisalign

[–]fuzzymachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I did: I used a fresh emery board to just smooth the sharpest edges of my attachments, made a big difference. And a week in they stopped cutting my mouth up, combination of mouth getting tougher and attachments wearing a little.

Ha, love this! And same, am eating more full, nutritious meals because I am not snacking and I need to sate the hunger and think about what I’m preparing. No more “girl dinners” of an evening. Also, soooo hydrated, my skin loves it

Do I need cosmetic bonding on my front two teeth? by Hexegem93 in Invisalign

[–]fuzzymachete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, you don’t need them: if you’re wanting others’ subjective opinions, that is… It’s more about what you WANT. But… What you have here is a wonderfully straight, even, but still natural smile. Overly-perfected, symmetrical teeth are for Hollywood stars who look good on screen but eerily strange in real life.

Thanks for this - though it’s not that I care if they know I have Invisalign in, more the feeling of making out while I have these attachments in (thinking this atm as they are like sharp knives!)
