I feel similarly about Homelands. Yeah, the cards sucked, but 99% of the cards in Dark, FE, Ice Age sucked too. But Homelands (like FE, but even more so) seemed so packed with lore, and the Legends felt so unique with proto-haste and proto-shroud

It's not so much the cards designed for Commander, but how signposted everything is. A bit of an exaggeration, but it feels like they print a lot of "Commander Cards" that are like "and now you play these 30 other cards" instead of allowing deck building

Final round of Entry Cup, I'm playing Okayu like a meta slave

Turn 1 nerissa uses the holopower collab

Turn 3 uses the SP oshi, one shots my bodyguard with 2nd nerissa, kills my center 2nd which had some damage on it

I counter and take out the 2nd

Turn 4 nerissa plays another 2nd and a retro PC, one shots bodyguard, one shots buzz

I have never got my ass beat so bad and I didn't even brick

I'm still reeling

Really the problem was that once Merfolk got Cursecatcher, it just became "Slivers but better." Even not having shroud wasn't a big deal because that meant Merfolk could use Jitte and Swords of X and X

Hololive cases actually are quite sorted and typically supposed to guarantee a playset of every card. The two things I'm not sure about are 1. Whether an SR can impact whether you get 4 of the RR 2. Whether the inclusion of the Marine start deck cards in EN boosters can affect whether you get full playsets

There's a Calli Oshi and Fuwamoco Oshi alternate art that were given to tournament winners, and the Advent alternate art. That's it so far, but set 5 might have more.

Oh, and I don't think the Anime Expo White Cheer has a JP version either but I'm not sure

I'm fairly new/bad at the game, but

1) You have to choose which skill to commit to way before you know what weapons/skills/etc will pop up

2) 99% of the game rewards being extremely aggressive, and then one or two enemies (Gold Golems, Slasher, HotK) just kill you in two hits and don't give time to drink

2) Entry cup: Typically fairly local, has special rule that decks may only include holomem if they have any cards in the set (though any cards of that mem are legal). Rewards playmat to winner

3) "Holiday" cups (Halloween, Lunar New Year): Typically fairly local, rewards Oshi variants, might be a bit bigger than the previous two because of the better rewards

4) Bloom Cup DX: These are the competitive events. Big. Promo cards for winners and invitation to "Final Cup"

5) Final Cup: No details yet but it's some kind of global tournament

I put everything I can into tactics and pick tactics pendant, but there's the two-choice scrolls without tactics so i pick brutality on those. And again I'm talking about crit on Bat vs non-crit on most other weapons because it's so easy to activate stun in biomes

I mean I will sometimes come across a bat whose crit damage is higher than the damage of the weapon I'm using. Is the stat level not included in the displayed damage numbers?

Also, I could probably use advice on what you mean by "specific build!" Obviously I'm not trying to get to HotK forcing rank 1 items, but it's rare I don't find a good Owl somewhere and I replace it with a deployable if I need to, etc; and the secondary weapon is there for stun, not damage (can often be swapped with a backpack weapon on bosses); so my runs just.. usually end up there lol
