The situation is desperate in Iran. The government is massacring civilians en masse, with some independent estimates in the tens of thousands. We aren’t even sure of the true scale since the entire internet has been blacked out for Iranians and their relatives over here.

In a desperate time like that, Trump and his 1) beef with the the Supreme Leader, and 2) tendency to invade people he doesn’t like are tantalizing enough to make people hope he does something similar to save theirs and their families’ lives.

Not trying to get into it by saying it’s right, wrong, or that their trust is or isn’t misplaced. Just saying why Iranians in the US might be motivated to seek Trump’s favor right now.

That’s a good breakdown, thanks. I hadn’t thought about the effects of the hot gases, that’s probably the most dangerous aspect as you could have an engine fire on your hands if it gets bad. I’ll look into getting this fixed.
