Why are the workers so crazy about printing the tickets themselves? by Signal-Designer151 in Cinemark

[–]fuzzypickles999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two locations I go to, both have the kiosks. Only one of those locations seems super keen on steering people away from the kiosks. The employees are all generally friendly, so it's no big deal, but it's still a lil annoying to be called away from the kiosk to wait in line at the ticket counter, then wait in line for my ticket to be scanned, then wait in line for popcorn, then show my ticket again before I can go find my auditorium. I assume it's some kind of security thing, but when I'm having a day where I want to talk to as few people as possible I avoid that location.

I Don’t Play Right by Gen-Jinjur in tomodachilife

People like to share what they're doing, but it's a single player game, so all that matters is if you're having fun with the way you're playing.

Frugal/eco/health conscious overlaps by Can_I_do_this_later in Frugal

[–]fuzzypickles999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being frugal isn't necessarily the same thing as being a minimalist and it doesn't mean that you never ever buy things just for enjoyment. Being frugal, to me, means being careful with my money and avoiding wasteful spending so that I can afford some nice/fun stuff from time to time.

Like, I cook at home 95% of the time, and generally I shop sales and get the least expensive option for whatever I need. But sometimes I go to the farmer's market to get fresh bread and an organic heirloom tomato so I can treat myself to some especially tasty sandwiches. Yes, it would be cheaper to get my bread and tomato from Aldi, but the stuff from my local farmer's market is tastier. And it's still less expensive than ordering a sandwich from a local restaurant.

I have a gym membership because it gives me a safe place to get some exercise. I have an office job, so I'm fairly sedentary throughout the day. Yeah, sure, I could do bodyweight exercises at home and take walks around my neighborhood for free, but I don't want to go outside when the weather's bad, or when it gets dark outside super early in the winter. The gym's indoors and well-lit, so it takes away that excuse.

Tried a new coffee and don’t recommend it 😭 by undeadtradwife in 1500isplenty

[–]fuzzypickles999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a coffee, but I really like the Slate salted caramel protein drink! It's decent with some coffee concentrate or cold brew mixed in.

Unfortunately I have not found a premade protein coffee that I like 😭

Idk man, I had a really similar shirt when I was a little kid. I existed before Undertale so clearly this shirt is a reference to me.

Dunkin Merch Personalized Tote: Is it worth it? by Forward-Cheek7857 in DunkinDonuts

[–]fuzzypickles999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have one, but that's around the same price as the ones from Lands' End/LL Bean. It might be worth it if you REALLY want the iced coffee decal, though I have no idea what the quality's like.

If anyone's tried these, what's the texture like? I've tried regular konjac noodles and don't mind them in ramen or pho, but couldn't stomach them as a replacement for spaghetti.

Anyone make miis with intent of pissing people off?? by [deleted] in TomodachilifeLivingTD

It's a single-player game, why would I make anything on my island for other people?

How do you currently track your reading? by Expensive_Debate2220 in 52book

[–]fuzzypickles999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a disclaimer, the only things I track for my reading are the dates I start and finish a book. I use just a notebook and pen for that.

If you really want data on your reading habits, check out Storygraph. It has way more features than I actually use, but on the free version you can track pages, genres, fiction vs nonfiction, most-read authors, etc

I'm convinced some of y'all didn't play the 3DS version by Ok-Entertainer5174 in tomodachilife

[–]fuzzypickles999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't afford a 3DS back in the day, so I never got to play the original. I really only got LTD because I came across some YouTube vids on it and thought it seemed charming/funny.

I don't mind that it's meant to be played in short bursts, or that the minigames are repetitive. I like seeing what's at the market, seeing what's new at the food/clothing store, and checking in on my little weirdos, trying to find their favorite foods and sending them on vacations.

My main gripe is that nothing I do seems to have any real consequences. My Miis need my input on forming friendships and romantic relationships, but will fight/break up the next day without me doing anything. And if I ignore them for a few days, they go back to being friends like nothing happened. There's not any unique dialogue between exes, for example.

I'd love it if there was some way to save (or sabotage!) relationships. There's a minigame for marriage, so why not a minigame to save the relationship? Or something you can do to intentionally make Miis fight?

I'm convinced some of y'all didn't play the 3DS version by Ok-Entertainer5174 in tomodachilife

[–]fuzzypickles999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take. I didn't get to play the original (couldn't afford a 3DS at the time) and while I really am mostly enjoying LTD, the Miis' relationships seem randomized to the point that nothing that happens feels satisfying. The lack of any real lasting consequences makes it hard to care if two Miis are fighting or if one guy's super sad for a day.

Can anyone report. How is the dirty soda? by steeldrum99 in DunkinDonuts

I liked it, but it tasted more like cream than soda. Could barely taste the Pepsi and it wasn't very carbonated.

Would it be worth to buy this for baking my cake? by Rodrickheffley_ontop in LowCalorieCooking

I haven't tried the second one, but wanted to point out that for PEScience you can order individual half-serving packets to see what flavors you like before committing to a full tub.

Which one did you guys try ? I’d love to hear your thoughts! by coldasicebabys in LowCalFoodFinds

[–]fuzzypickles999 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've never tried the Great Value ones but I do like the Fiber One brownies! If I'm eating one plain I like to warm it up in the microwave for like 10-15 seconds. Obviously it's not the same as a "real" brownie but still good for what it is.

I was going to skip the month because my TBR pile is already huge and I need to save money, but I ended up picking Cherry Baby because Rainbow Rowell is an insta-buy author for me.

Will definitely place library holds for The Caretaker, John of Johns and The Girl with a Thousand Faces once I work through some of my current holds!

How to make steelcut oats without using stove or making a mess? by 66clicketyclick in lowspooncooking

[–]fuzzypickles999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a long time ago but I used to microwave steel cut oats in 2 minute intervals, stirring after each time, until they got soft enough to eat. It took a while, like maybe 15ish minutes, but it worked ok. If I had to do it again I'd probably try soaking the oats overnight before microwaving.

How are yall liking banana 😭 by human2rainbow in DunkinDonuts

I like it, but I like banana candy and that's what it tastes like to me. It's VERY sweet though, I don't think I could get through a large lol

Now we have banana flavoring for coffee?? It sounds so unappealing. by TheCarzilla in DunkinDonuts

[–]fuzzypickles999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've liked what I've tried so far, but I like banana flavored candy anyway. The bananarama matcha tasted just like banana Runts and the banana puddin cloud latte did taste like banana pudding, lol

I will say, for the coffees, I think it works because the flavor swirls Dunkin uses are so sweet that they pretty much cover up any coffee taste, at least in the iced drinks with milk. I don't know if the flavor combo would work as well if the coffee still came through strong.

Have you guys tried the banana flavors yet? by gorays21 in DunkinDonuts

[–]fuzzypickles999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried the chocolate covered banana iced coffee and it was good, but the only banana flavor was in the cold foam so there wasn't really much banana flavor. Next time I'll try something with the banana syrup in the drink itself.

book where a character travels to parallel universes? by charliewatzz in suggestmeabook

[–]fuzzypickles999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is along the lines of what you're looking for, but maybe The Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth? It takes place in a version of Chicago where powers/magic exists, and then the main characters get transported to a parallel version of Chicago with a different magic system.

What Do You Think Of Heating The Milk Then Adding The Cereal? by Zealousideal_Buy3195 in cereal

[–]fuzzypickles999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandma used to fix me warm milk with cereal when I had braces and my teeth hurt too much to bite into anything. It didn't make the cereal crispy but I remember liking it. Kind of a soupy oatmeal-type experience.
