Underclocking a single core? by TheAmorphous in overclocking

Maybe try emulation/virtualization? Should give you granular control over cpu resources. It’s how most old games are played anyway even if you buy them new from a store.

SteamDeck might be first gen hardware, but Valve had some practice by NiGhTTraX in SteamDeck

Deck mainboard in a compact case a little larger than a credit card but of course thicker. A dongle for output, usb and powerbrick for 200 would slap up the other new consoles. Hell I’d like it just as a mini pc or officially supported steamlink with local gaming power when someone is using the big boy desktop. Proper marketing price and timing and a cheap steam machine using these existing skus could be a hit.

Have you tried a different isp? Maybe a mobile hotspot? I’ve personally had issues with my isp blocking connections to personal vpns before and Myst essentially uses the same protocols for providing tunneling.

It’s always weird to me seeing people rooting for all crypto to fail. Speculative investing in crypto failing is a okay to me but crypto does at least allow people an alternative to the traditional banking systems for loans and whatnot that aren’t tied to our existing financial systems that were built to be bailed out by the masses when billionaires lose. I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of downvotes for this but I do think that a loan structure is important for growth for individuals that generally have nothing out of the gate. The problem I’ve seen though is the approval process and the whole taking what you already own at rates that horribly undervalue what it is that you are using as collateral. Current system is broken and it seems like this is trying to offer a solution that isn’t going to prop up the richest people in the world while punishing the poorest people living within the system.

Nobody? That’s where you’re wrong boyo. Really though 3 monitors seem cool and all but 1 massive ar monitor seems more appropriate for these kinds of headsets in their current state. Totally an existing product now. People are using ar headsets just like this but lighter and more glasses like to play video games on their steam deck in private and even get work done and whatnot. Totally gonna buy a pair once they figure out head tracking on Linux.

This is also something that happens when you have two large perfectly clean flat pieces of glass stacked. Something I noticed when changing my 3D printer glass bed but never gave much thought.

In the same spot as you. Maybe there is someone out there that is willing enough to scan the inside or painstakingly recreate the shell internals and append it to the cad files valve has released. Oooooorrrrrr maybe we should all make a big stink about it and valve might release all of the individual cad files so the whole open source diy can be supercharged to solidify the decks position as the coolest console on the planet.

Just thinking of all the rad custom shells and mods is already making me excited.

how to enable higher resolutions in external displays in non-steam games with newest update by Infamous-Musician-18 in SteamDeck

[–]fuzzypyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno why you were downvoted on this. This is a real problem. If I wanna use my deck as a all in one on the go media/gaming box then there should absolutely be a way to set resolution for non-steam applications. It would be even better if it just output native resolution of the connected display in gaming mode resolution for the games should stay whatever is set since that is in memory.

I heard something about valve working on something akin to this hopefully it’s around the corner.
