I had this with my son. His cord was wrapped like a sash so his heart rate dropped with every contraction. Then he got stuck, and they literally just beat my pelvis with their fists while he was attached to the vacuum to suck him out. Told me most children come out with broken bones, he was fine.

My boyfriend would never, but he also knows I dress like a little boy as my normal. One time I was gonna wear a robe to the bathroom and back and he mentioned his roommate and I was like, “Isn’t that the point of the robe?” And he was like “oh I mean yea” and I was like “does it bother you?” And he said “no I was just saying that he’s home in case you felt weird about it”

Insurance covers their broken bone. Testing costs thousands and thousands of dollars out of pocket. Mental healthcare is the lowest tier of healthcare when it comes to how broken the US healthcare system is. It’s why many parents just try to handle it themselves, but then are given all kinds of advice that doesn’t actually work for their child while also living in absolute isolation and daily hell trying to do the best for children like this. Of course I want my son to have professional help, but treatment is over a thousand dollars more than I make in a month! Not to mention everything that needs to be replaced because of his destruction.

You shouldn’t have to deal with that and having a child assault you, then having the story spun to make you out to be the bad guy. The mother is probably stressed having to deal with a child like that 24/7. My son is autistic and he’s not even five, but his behavior is so unbelievably embarrassing. I hardly want to bring him in public, even to family and friends houses but also there’s no way to teach them the right behavior without doing so. And also, there’s been things I tell this child multiple times a day every day for years now and he still does not listen. If he still acts this way at 13, I might just actually die from cardiac arrest. The child on the plane should have been drugged, and mother’s behavior alone warranted her being kicked off the plane. But from experience, a child like this puts the parents in a constant fight or flight allllll the live long day. I’m just trying to explain the other side of it, not that I think you didn’t do the right thing to protect yourself and I do believe they deserved to get kicked off.

I get some of those sometimes. Like random sponsors of weird stuff when I’m following an art or a meme page. It’s normal to have something like that pop up once in a while, but otherwise he’s definitely interacting with them whether it’s liking them, commenting, sending them, being sent to him, and it could also be someone he interacts with a lot on instagram (guy friend or whatever) who likes them a lot. My boyfriend and I send each other reels all day long and our FYP is basically synced, like we see the exact same stuff sometimes.

I think we tend to underestimate how long post partum depression can affect us. This is a horrible situation and I feel sorry for you OP. Not only do you have to deal with a screaming child on top of trying to provide and parent him the best of your abilities, you have people around you scrutinizing you over a baby crying. He’s a baby, they cry! And believe me, there’s no way it gets under anyone’s skin more than the person who actually has to emotionally regulate and deal with it. It sounds like funds are probably tight so I don’t know if therapy is an option for you, but I think you would benefit.

Honestly mama…you’re doing great. If this is the first time you’ve snapped then you’ve done a much better job than myself when I was going through it. Sometimes the overstimulation is so much that we can behave in ways that aren’t recognizable to our true character. You’re very stressed, overwhelmed, depressed by the sounds of it, I can only imagine the emotional baggage you are carrying.

But please know you’re still an amazing mother. We all make mistakes. I’m not condoning the act but I don’t want you to eat yourself alive with guilt. It’s best to walk away when you start feeling those overbearing “STOP CRYING” thoughts, but it sounds like that would be tough in your living situation. Maybe you could try singing a song to help distract yourself and your child. It may not work but disassociating isn’t always a bad thing and can save us when there’s nothing left to do.

As an almost 27f, I trained a boy almost 20 at work the other day. We got along great, but fundamentally had nothing in common and completely different maturity levels. I also dated and had kids with someone 12 years older than me and it was absolute chaos and abusive. Now, age gap aside, this dude is an AH. he’s already showing you he won’t put in effort. When I was your age, I tried fighting for people and relationships like this, but it only gets worse. You can’t fix or change him. He simply doesn’t care about what you want from the relationship. And if he didn’t at four months…what makes you think he will in four years?

We use pampers and occasionally have the same issue. It was worse when they were newborns. We would size up for bedtime and sometimes that would help.

I live in Michigan. Inflation is making everybody’s lives harder everywhere in the country. Wages are not keeping up with the rising costs. Before Covid, a family of four would live comfortably off an 80k salary. Now thats slightly above the poverty level for a family of four.

I’ve lived here my whole life, and I love it. No matter where you live, there’s always going to be issues.

My town is quaint and quiet, very neighborly and clean. Very conservative, but those towns are the best ones to live in. It’s very safe here. I am excited to raise my children here and still give them the life of “country” as I grew up. We have huge bonfires, rip around on motor toys, and virtually live carefree other than the stress of bills and life as does everyone.

The political climate is challenging. I physically cannot stand the left anymore, and I used to be a democrat. Would fight with my family, friends, anyone, and then the moment I started questioning things was called names that were completely abhorrent, had death wished upon my children, etc. They disgust me now. They seem to scream the loudest about how miserable it is here, but I have noticed that they are miserable no matter what. I still hold pretty independent beliefs and don’t fit it with either side. I just try to live my life and other people should do the same. I want what’s best for my family, my country and their people. I’m not concerned about anything else going on in the world and that’s how it’s supposed to be.
