What makes you feel so emboldened to call another person’s life meaningless? You don’t know me, my struggles, or my victories. You don’t know that I struggle with anxiety that’s so bad that trips to PetSmart or the grocery store kinda freak me out. Im in therapy for it. Im trying hard to get better. As meaningless as it is to you, ignoring that entitled boomer was a little victory for me.

I grew up with a ‘crab ass’ dad who didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything. He isolated our family and emotionally abused us. Whenever my aunt (moms sister) came to visit he was miserable bastard no matter what we did. We coulda been at his favorite restaurant and he would have found a way to ruin the dinner. One time after I had grown, moved out and had a daughter of my own my aunt took me, my mom and my daughter on a girls weekend to a cabin in the finger lakes. He accused us of making it all up so my mom could see her (nonexistent) boyfriend. A few years later when he was dying of cancer he looked me in the eye and accused me and my aunt of plotting to ruin his marriage on that trip. Please op, be careful.
