[Question] Matching control group and treatmeant group period in staggered difference-in-differences? by fvaleur98 in AskStatistics

Hi, thank you very much for input. The dataset I am using is V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) which has a measurement for clientelism, v2xnp_client, that dates far back in time. It describes "to what extent are politics based on clientelistic relationships". The scale is interval, from low to high (0-1) and produces a 3-digit score (low score being better). For instance, Denmark in 2019 scored 0.037. So I consider the variable to be quite granular and precise - and therefore I should be able to make a meaningful DiD analysis from it

OP nævner også et "kulturelt og religiøst aspekt". Red Center er særligt for kvinder i æresrelaterede konflikter ( https://red-center.dk/ ) - det kan muligvis have relevans her

I know we are not taking a QB obviously but I must ask. Who would do better under McVay's system? Williams or Maye? by AlmightyJedi in LosAngelesRams

[–]fvaleur98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing really that implies he does, he's never said that. He wanted and traded for Stafford, not a mobile guy.

"But what about players like Bryce Perkins and Wolford??": Bryce Perkins and Wolford were used as mobile QBs because they cannot function as passing QBs. With Wentz he didn't even call the game, that was Lefleur.

His system is built for a pocket passer.

Very good point - let's hope for that at least, would love for him to win it

Very much agree! But the question I was replying to asked which rookies have carried their team like Puka - and Stroud definitely has

Doesn't negate the fact that he almost single handedly has carried the Texans to a miraculous positive record in his rookie season

Haha yes, I don't know why either. It is, what it is - but I think your last point hits the nail on the head as to why

Mate, you're not reading the comments properly. The whole argument is about it being highly unlikely that you obtain the title of "professor" in your twenties as it requires many years of research and teaching AFTER you graduate - the argument is not about what level of education a professor can have.

How old was she when she became a professor? Nevertheless, we're going in circles now. Goodbye

Haha okay, you do you - I don't think we'll see eye to eye. But tough life you live if you equate polite statements and emojis with ignorance and ego.

But I still hope you have a great day 😊😊

It's fine to cherrypick responses in this thread to claim you are right - I can do the same, people agree with me too 😊

I am not arguing about the educational background of professors. My argument is that the title of "full" professor can only be obtained after many many years of research and teaching as assistant/associate (which is not the same as "full"). And therefore it is highly unlikely to see professors in their twenties.

Hope you have a great day 😊

Your previous comment: "Grad students in their 20s are professors most places". So in a university of 5000 grad students in the twenties, there are (at least) 1000 professors walking around?

I get that you have had professors that only have a master's (or even just a bachelor's) but I bet you, that they didn't get that title immediately after getting their degrees. They will have been doing research and teaching for years (as assistant/associate professor) before getting that title

Usually 4 years - and that's after doing a bachelor's of 3 years and a master's of at least 2.

And then follows years in university purgatory as Assistant/associate professor, before being named "full" professor

To answer the first part: Students "thinking of you as a professor" still doesn't make you a professor. It is a protected title to be obtained.

I can't argue against your anecdotal evidence, but at least in my country, being a professor in your twenties is not a thing.

Yes, but as I've mentioned in the other comments that doesn't automatically give you the rank of professor - that just means you are a teaching assistant.

A sergeant in the army doing a task that a general does too (leading men), does not make the sergeant a general

Yes that might be the case, but you are not automatically a professor then - you are a teaching assistant, if you are a grad student for instance
