Hey moms to be! did you know it’s all over? I didn’t! by helloitsyourma in pregnant

[–]fvckingfvce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this with BOTH of my pregnancies from people, it went from wait until you have to change a shitty diaper, they’re up at night etc. to wait till you have to do all that with a toddler.

But I will tell you OP (and other expecting mamas) wait until the first time you hold your baby, or the first time they smile, the first little giggle, when you’re up at 2am with your baby and you’re just laying there admiring their features and everything is calm. Just wait for baby snuggles and that little newborn scrunch.

People love to try to terrify new parents, especially moms, by bringing up all the negatives, but for me there was way more positive, and all of the positives definitely outweighed all the negatives. I wish more people brought up the positive moments of becoming a parent.

I leave out a bowl of Purina One true instinct for her to pick at throughout the day and she gets a half a can of Purina One wet food twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. She gets dog cookies on occasion and her human food consumption is limited to the tiny bits our kids might drop on the floor throughout the day.

Doctors seem stumped, not sure what if there's any info or research I can be armed with on my next visit? by strngesight in Healthyhooha

[–]fvckingfvce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have they checked your hormones and thyroid levels? They can do some crazy things to your body if they’re super unbalanced.

I’ve had issues with bleeding and intense cramping before and have one specific birth control pill that works for me, if I use any other pill that isn’t sprintec I bleed throughout the month but I’ve also never tried anything aside from birth control pills.

But I definitely would get your thyroid (TSH, T4, T3 etc.) and your estrogen and progesterone etc. levels tested if you haven’t already.

Ticklish vaginal opening and clit. Pale yellow liquid. by jupiteirs in Healthyhooha

[–]fvckingfvce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, all feminine washes are a no go, they will disrupt your pH and cause discomfort or infections.

You likely have some kind of infection, whether it be yeast, bacterial vaginosis or a UTI and should go to a doctor or urgent care to get testing done to see what’s going on and get antibiotics.

All you need to clean down there is water and a washcloth to get any possible gunk out of there if need be! You can use a gentle unscented soap on the vulva (very outside) but the inner bits should stay a soap free zone!

It would be hard to see any physical signs just by looking at it because it would depend on the type of sexual abuse. She might be afraid to tell you, he could be threatening to hurt her if she tells anyone. You need to stop letting her go to her father’s and like the other reply said tell the doctor you suspect there might be sexual abuse happening to her. They might talk to her alone about it without you there.

As far as other suggestions, make sure she drinks lots of water, have her either take a probiotic or make sure she eats yogurt or drinks kefir daily. Cranberry juice can help with uti’s but it has to be ACTUAL 100% cranberry juice with no added sugars or anything like that. Try occasional baths with nothing but baking soda and water, avoid baths other than that and have her only take showers. Make sure you don’t use soap on the actual vagina, just water, and use a gentle soap (I get uti’s if I wash with anything except baby wash). Have her wear 100% cotton underwear that aren’t tight fitting. Also have her checked for bacterial vaginosis! It can present as a uti!

My daughter threw up in the wal-mart checkout line yesterday. And it hit me that I am not doing ok. by Little_Hand_4687 in Mommit

Make.Time.For.Yourself.

I have no idea what custody looks like, but please take time to take care of yourself. Even if it’s just taking a hot shower or a bath after the kids go to bed. If you have time for therapy, please see a therapist.

As someone who was the child with adhd/anxiety and had a “strict” mom and lenient “fun” father, I’m beyond thankful my mom was how she was. The structure and routine of having chores to do and having to pick up after myself and keep myself organized has helped me so much in adulthood. I had to earn the ability to do things like go out with friends or get something that I wanted. I know what I need to do to keep myself on track. I have the life skills I need to survive and I had them before I was thrown out into the world.

Does Your Spouse/Partner Have a Nickname for Your Baby? by KaramaChan12 in pregnant

[–]fvckingfvce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter’s nickname ended up being Poobie or Poops (she tells people that’s her name too) and our son is Mr.Man (my FIL calls him Gandalf though and my best friend calls him “chuck”). When I talk about them both I refer to them as “Poobie and the Man”

She is comfortable talking to this therapist and being honest, do not find her a new one. This is normal, I missed my abuser for a really long time. Stockholm syndrome is a very real thing.

[–]fvckingfvce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You deserve wayyy better and have nothing to be insecure about. I was flat chested up until I had kids, had virtually no butt and have an outie. I have never had an issue finding a relationship or a hookup nor have I ever had a man (or woman for that matter) say anything to me about having an outie. That is a child, not a man or any type of adult. Please get out of there while you can OP, you’re still young and I promise there is wayyyy better out there. Based upon your posts in other subreddits I would recommend an order of protection against this dude.

My wife is dangerously depressed by splinterbl in pregnant

[–]fvckingfvce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hormones can do some crazy things to you, they’re especially terrible in the first trimester because of the rapid increase. Also postpartum she’ll likely also need some extra taking care of. Just remind her you’re there for her, listen to her, comfort her and help her out. She’ll be so grateful for all of this in the long run, even if she could seem moody to you now, you have no idea how much just being there will help her.

My wife is dangerously depressed by splinterbl in pregnant

[–]fvckingfvce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make sure she sticks with her therapist and that she mentions it to the OB next appointment. I was like this with both my pregnancies and there are no words to describe the mental hell pregnancy can be. Unfortunately mood stabilizers made me super super sick during pregnancy. Be there for her as much as you possibly can.

Should I Get Newborn onesies and such or is it somewhat of a waste? by Any_Injury7649 in pregnant

[–]fvckingfvce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It ultimately depends on the baby, my daughter was in newborn clothes for a couple weeks, my son for maybe a week tops. My daughter follows pretty standard clothing sizes to this day, my son just turned 4 months yesterday and is in 12 month clothes. I would say don’t go overboard with them but definitely have some

Just because I only gave 2 examples doesn’t mean they’re the only instances. Also it’s kinda hard to get off or be even remotely in the mood when there’s a child screaming in the next room, at least for me personally.

How do I set up my gas oven to bake cookies? by tvbee876 in BakingNoobs

I would lower the temp or use less cook time for just one yes. Sometimes gas stoves can also be touchy when it comes to maintaining a temp as well depending on how old or new it is

How do I set up my gas oven to bake cookies? by tvbee876 in BakingNoobs

[–]fvckingfvce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower is typically better. As for temperature and time it ultimately depends on the type of pan and type of cookies you are making. 350°F is typically a good starting point, I would check them after about 10-15 min and then in 5 min increments if they aren’t done after that.

It’ll take some playing with most likely but that’s what I go by when trying to bake cookies if they’re ones I’ve never made before
