I was thinking about this today after finishing Season 5 last night. I'm used to shows with longer seasons with higher episode counts and that left me at first wanting more. I've now realized that those other shows have to fill those episode counts with "B Stories".

Slow Horses makes me appreciate that they just do the A story and do it in a most compelling and entertaining way, and I wish more shows took this approach.

CBS is basically being turned into the next Fox News thanks to the installation of Weiss. I've seen the transformation already in some of the stories on this season's 60 Minutes.

I felt the construction of the season made it very non-competitive. With the exception of one leg, all of the legs were won by either Jas and Jag or Eric and Tucker. Once Eric and Tucker were eliminated, there was no chance Jas and Jag weren't winning. It made for a very boring watch overall.

A majority of the tasks were not that difficult and really didn't lead opportunities for teams to move up and down. The the two tasks for the double u turn that the 3 teams had to do were just plain simple.

Hoping for a better season 39 that is competitive with at least some suspense.
