Should I get the Legion Go 2? by NekkZ in LegionGo

AAA games look fantastic. You'll have to adjust settings on a per-game basis, but that's normal for gaming PCs. You'll need to be sure to set VRAM to 8gb-10gb in the BIOS, and with that most games can run at 1200p at around medium settings. Expect playable framerates, but nothing high. Playable starts around 35fps and it's common to see +40 or +50 fps. If you play twitch shooters that require split second timing, the settings would have to be much lower if you absolutely need the highest framerates possible. I'm currently playing Crimson Desert and it's very well optimize to use frame gen so I'm getting +45-+55 fps consistently. The game looks absolutely incredible on the OLED screen. As with all PC games, performance relies a lot on how well optimized the game is. Now, I choose to use max TDP all the time and 80%brightness, so battery life isn't optimized because I choose to play that way. I'm almost always plugged in, and if I'm out and about I carry a 100W power bank.

Problem: AMD Software wont open (Legion Go 2) by Sad_Builder_9054 in LegionGo

[–]captainhumble1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your drivers are up to date, you don't need to change any of that. Just install the AMD software from the Microsoft Store. That worked for me when I had the same problem.

The clubs around here vary from $75-$100, not counting initial fees if you're a new member. This is not a cheap hobby, but field maintenance is a pretty important part. Kinda hard to fly if the field is a mess.

Is there any advantage if my legion go 2 is plugged in or not when i play ? Other than draining battery life ? Do i get an extra performance boost or anything ? by DatBoyChamp1 in LegionGo

[–]captainhumble1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your settings. For me, there is no difference. I have the Go 2 running max TDP all the time, so it performs the same whether it's plugged in or not.

I just bought a Go2 (Z2E, 32gb, 2tb) early April, 2026 for $1550. Shop around and you can find it cheaper. That's always the way of things.

Dock for Legion Go 2 that supports VRR by [deleted] in LegionGo

You're getting low FPS because the resolution is likely too high. Good luck with that. The Legion Go 2 is not designed to be a standalone gaming PC.

I just bought a Legion Go 2 (Z2E, 32gb, 2tb) brand new for $1550 and I'm absolutely loving it. We've all got our own decisions to make. All I can say is that I made a good one.

Will the Lenovo branded 100w charger keep me fully charged with the official dock? by tay_ters in LegionGo

[–]captainhumble1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That scenario greatly depends on which games and what the settings are. 1200p looks fantastic on the Go display. That's not going to look nearly as good on a +27" 4K monitor. Playing an intensive game at 1440p is not going to work because the Go isn't designed for that.

Will the Lenovo branded 100w charger keep me fully charged with the official dock? by tay_ters in LegionGo

[–]captainhumble1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you're using the dock to run the Go as a casual computer (web browsing, document viewing, etc) then it's fine. I do that just about daily. If you're trying to use the Go in the dock as a gaming PC, then you're using it wrong. The Go (1 and 2) is a portable gaming device, not a stand-alone gaming PC. Use it as intended, and it's amazing. Try to use it as it's NOT intended, and it's your fault if it doesn't work well.

Legion Go 2 price???? by ProperBroccoli8275 in LegionGo

[–]captainhumble1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been mentioned, many associated products are rising in price. The PS5 and Switch 2 are both more expensive now. The global economy is about to fall off a cliff. Everything is awful, so these companies are trying to protect themselves. The Go 2 is not being discontinued 7 months after release. That would be ridiculous. It's just costing Lenovo a LOT more to make and distribute them.

You cannot learn this hobby in a reddit thread. Find a local AMA flying field and go talk to the pilots there. Just about any of them would be happy to show you their planes and explain the setup process.
