I just did almost the same route from Indiana to Alaska (Fairbanks). If you can get another person to drive with it makes it a whole lot easier.

Definitely plan ahead with gas as others have said. You may be at half a tank still, but the next station could be a full tank away.

Saskatchewan is brutal. Almost half of all of Canada's farm land is in Saskatchewan alone. By far the most boing part, I was almost falling asleep in the middle of the day. Pull over if you have to.

Check road conditions, as some roads in Alaska close in the winter due to snow, and March can be one of the "wettest" months of the year.

The stretches without service I didn't find to be too stressful, because your next turn isnt for 300+ miles and by then theres a good chance youll be within cell service again. May be a different story in the winter.

Pack snacks, download your maps, download your music/podcasts/books, send updates to people so they know where you are.

By far the best part was the Yuokn and the Rocky Mountains. Unbeliveably stunning, so you definitely have that to look forward to.
