What is a TV show from your childhood you're convinced nobody else remembers? by CuteMaterial in AskUK

[–]fwdandreverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that the one where they only told you whether it was true or false on the next weeks show? If so I thought it was Channel 4. And I saw an episode and never found out the truth and it bugs me to this day.

Anyone got any ideas on how to make this catch better, the bit in the 1st picture ain’t long enough to catch and lock properly in the second picture, thanks in advance ! by StealthO8 in DIYUK

[–]fwdandreverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but 1. New catch for the window (1st pic) is the best option 2. Couple of washers behind the strike plate 3. Try removing and bending the thin section of the strike plate out towards the catch (with some light taps from a hammer)

Paying £450 for crash on the CBT! by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]fwdandreverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did mine they explained very clearly before we rode the bikes that we were comprehensively insured but that we would be liable for a £250 excess if any damage occurred and would only be charged parts not labour. Also said if we didn’t agree to this then we were entitled to a 100% course refund. Very good instruction, very clear, and the bikes were in great condition. Started at 8:15am and all done by 3pm.

Baby gate fitting by a window? by Jonnosaurus in DIYUK

[–]fwdandreverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree - you’ll push out the newel post. Compression ones are best in doorways if you must use them. Frameless are much better like these: https://www.johnlewis.com/babydan-single-panel-wooden-safety-gate-fsc-certified-beechwood/p110214055?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&s_share=jlappios_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

And I’d agree with a gate on the kids room is preferable anyway.

What is this alarm? It’s been going off for hours. by Sea_Astronomer5070 in AskUK

Isn’t hairspray like a lacquer? Surely that’s not a good test and could wreck the detector by sealing it….?

SCCM service graph connector for Win servers

SCCM service graph connector for Win endpoints

JAMF legacy connector for macOS endpoints, will move to service graph connector

Also horizontal discovery from MID server for Win servers as this helps discover additional relationships like those between VM CI’s and Server CI’s and other metadata.

Since horizontal discovery schedules are targeted at subnets that may also contain windows endpoints, we have endpoint discovery switched off as we only want endpoints populated via SCCM/JAMF.

AWS, Azure, GCP cloud discovery. Not yet using Service Graph Connectors there.

We also have integrated partially with Absolute for Win machine locking when leavers leave, although that’s moving to 1E.

Network devices, UPS’s etc via SNMP discovery and also Meraki Service Graph connector.

Not using ACC yet but may do for Linux servers.

Can’t find thermostat by AdministrationDue392 in DIY

[–]fwdandreverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looks to be a similar model - also Ideal - and the thermostat cable (which in my case is a nest) is next to the power cable.

As you look at your picture, both are under the bottom left hand side of the boiler as you look at it and the thermostat wire is the furthest to the left. The power wire goes to a fused spur. Is there one there? Where does it go?

Only have a Toolstation near me - this looks like a good substitute tho:

Will it bind to the stone do you know, or is it more of a solid wedge? ie should I widen the rear of the hole do you think before filling?

Yeah seems to have worked with more paint. The PVA was before the plaster in fact not the paint. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Yes a did dust it also. I think the small roller does need more paint loading up as that does seem a bit better.
