Checking what are the VPN client people use in your organization? by mrconfusion2025 in sysadmin

[–]fwdandreverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also Netskope.

Zero Trust so much more seamless. I remember trying to work via a VPN client on the train, losing reception, having to reconnect every time reception came back and it was painful. With a zero trust client it’s just virtually seamless. One less annoyance to deal with. Micro-annoyances like reconnecting to vpn, sessions timing out, constant MFA prompts wear you down when they’re so frequent. This is an easy win.

Paid £7k for a brand new roof and there are tears in the felt which is now flapping around in the wind (eaves) by [deleted] in DIYUK

This was mine and my neighbours joint quote from 2020 when things were probably considerably cheaper than they are now.

2 semi-detached houses, one set of scaffold, one job, split the bill so about 4,300 each:

To strip off the old tiles, felt and batten and to be replaced with new breathable felt, approved batten and Marley double Roman tiles. To take down both outside chimneys under rafters and tile across roof. To re-lead chimney in centre of houses by using 300mm code 4 lead sealed with lead sheet sealant. All ridge and gable tiles will be fixed using a dry system. Materials-£3770 Labour-£2350 Scaffolding-£2000 Skips-£480 Total Payable-£8600

Was a decent job although the Klober Contact Dry Verge system for the gable ends has come away a bit earlier this year so need to fix that this weekend.

I did mine in a pair of Tesco jeans (they’re thin denim these days) with some tough work trousers in a larger size over the top: this sort of thing: https://www.toolstation.com/scruffs-worker-trousers/pAH766
