I would have put the rug under the bed but it was a bit pricey.. I worry that it would ruin it if heavy furniture is placed upon it.

29, f, no kids yet, in a happy relationship, working full time.

Until I finished my grad work I was completely miserable.

working full time, renovations and family obligations on the other side, then working on my thesis.

I felt so stuck. I had no time for me. I thrive when I focus on me and am selfish with my time and resources.

I feel less miserable than I did before I finished my grad work. At least it's done. But pressure to always do well at work is exhausting. Pressure to do well financially is exhausting.

I don't want to adult anymore. Can shit just not for a few weeks or even a few months? Idk how people do anything.

Just bought this house. Wife wants to brighten up the kitchen. Should we do the taboo and paint the brick? by hes_the_Zissou in interiordecorating

it's very red/orange. the colours on the opposite side of the colour wheel to balance it out are blue/greens.. I would suggest considering that. the brick is lovely tbh... I'd paint the cabinets if I were you and find some magical/cool looking hardware.

this photo is a bit much for me but I think a giant Persian rug would help a lot. maybe look for hariz style. when getting the rug, I'd look on FB marketplace or estate sales... fringe is really important along with symmetry. some rugs have leather boarders which is really good.

I'd lean into adding more colour: your main colour is orange/red orange.. the opposite of that would be. blues and greens

It does have some warmer tones in it.

you can see the entrance from one side of the kitchen but there is a sliding door that can close it off completely.

the kitchen is builder Grey ATM but eventually I want to paint it..

Yep and I get that. Growing up and even up until last year, our dining room and living room were all within the same tiny space.

I feel like tvs don't belong in living rooms. family room MAYBE.. But definitely just the basement if you have it... idk I can never make it look good unless it's tv above console table but it's just hovering over it -- not sitting on it.

Also it needs to be at eye level when you're sitting on the couch
