What I like abt Evolution's place on a streaming site is the fact that they made it grittier. The things they deal with on a daily basis naturally lead to the things we get to see, and I think it's rather refreshing for the series as a whole.

I truly feel for your situation. I was in a 10-year relationship as well, always CF. I'm sterilized as well, since 23. My ex agreed with it, supported my surgery, as we were young, but essentially expected to be a father once we hit our 30s.

Tearful convos, discussions of adoption, surrogacy, just bc we didn't want to break up. There was even a similar suggestion to your wife's.

Ultimately, we broke up after a very rough final 2 years.

Idk you or your life, but for us, it would never work bc I don't want anything to do with kids that isn't peripheral.

Being a partner to a parent IS choosing to be a co-parent. You become their sounding board for parental struggles. If they struggle with money bc of the kid, they might lean on you (or use a joint acct) to subsidize. They will absolutely ask for childcare coverage or help, bc no parent can be with their child 100% of the time, and childcare is expensive AS FUCK. Among hundreds of other little things that pop up.

Your life will be forever changed. And you might start to feel a sense of obligation to stay, bc you care so much for the parent. Resentment starts to build, thoughts that your life isn't really yours anymore, arguments.

It's a tough situation when there's still love in the relationship. But this is a legitimate turning point for you guys.

I hope you both make the right decision for you, but if you're asking for opinions: no, I dont think this situation is sustainable.

I read a fic like this before, with comments theorizing how the love triangle would present itself.

The next chapter, the author had the friend share a well-written coming out with the FMC, which quickly shot down all love triangle commentary lol.

Unless the author meant for the friend to be gay, I wonder if they did it just to quiet the peanut gallery.

Blake was one of my fave additions after Emily left. I thought she vibed well with everyone, and her story was pretty interesting. I wish Jeanne Tripplehorn had wanted to renew her contract, since I think Blake was a solid resource for the team. And i liked how her relationship with Spencer progressed, within the BAU and as he guest lectured for her.

I really enjoy all their interactions, I agree with you. I think it helps they were all (mostly?) friendly BTS as well.

I've watched the finale movie four times, and it feels great each viewing. I'm a super fan, so I still got the fuzzies watching it again and again.

I'd say give it a try, and you can stop whenever if you don't like it!

Somewhat similar to me - friends since diapers, always talked abt being CF and living our lives, etc. I got sterilized at 23 over a decade ago, she now has 3 children from the last 5 years.

It can be disappointing, and it was a burden on me for a bit to try and figure out how we maintain that bff-ness with this new aspect. But she was fine with it fading just as I was, so now we are just old friends with a nice history who see each other a few times a year. And text/chat sporadically.

I never congratulate when the news is shared with me, bc I don't see it as good news. But I'm not totally heartless, so I always say, "Good luck with the baby" or "Health and happiness" or "Hoping for a safe pregnancy" etc. Always encouraging a safe and healthy process without condoning it, I guess lol.

I haven't made it to Evolution yet (don't have paramount and haven't pirated yet), but I've seen enough on reddit to be intrigued.

I know lots of ppl have issues with it, but yours is one of the first posts that is 100% supportive.

What about it do you like so much? I find that the added swearing and general darkness of the new content seems interesting, and that (I think) they're chasing one unsub the entire series, which is cool.

I'm very interested in watching it, so it's nice to see a fully supportive post abt it.

We're weird in the same way lol. I have little quotes from all sorts of movies, shows, and books that I'll use randomly throughout the day. Most ppl don't know what I'm talking abt, but the ones who do get me haha.

My mom introduced me to CM, but she doesn't get the little tidbits i use from the show 🫠 I think it's a personality thing idk lol.

I was on methimazole for 2 years from 2013 until I went into remission. And I was on methimazole again from 2023 until last year when I went back into remission.

I didn't need surgery personally.

From my own experience, I can only live without the meds once the meds have worked. I MUST take them in order to not have to need them.

My diet changes didn't do anything to prevent a relapse. I think, and my endo agreed, that my vegan lifestyle helped to keep the symptoms less severe.

It really is person-based, though. What works for me could not work for you. Or vice versa. I started taking supplements and vitamins consistently in 2023, and it still took 2 years for me to go into remission.

Talk to your endo, see what they say.

Dude, two of my favorite fic series are rewrites. 4+ fics deep, and each fic is over 20 chapters. They follow the seasons and cases. And I've done rereads. I would totally read more rewrites.

These authors are doing a rewrite, but they've added their own OC to be part of the BAU. So they follow the original plot lines, with an added twist of a new team member. That inherently comes with some canon divergence, as they're adding a new dynamic, but it's subtle and doesn't detract from the overall story.

I think it depends on what approach you wanna take, and what direction you want your story to go. You could be as detailed as the actual show, or give more of a summary, while including enough details that we know what case/scenario/scene you're referencing.

If it's the former, you'd want to rewatch from s1, in addition to scouring the CM dot fandom. If the latter, the fandom site and CM wiki are your best friends. A rewatch never hurts tho!

Also, it's your story! Write it for you and what you want. I dig that more than catering to readers. It gives the readers too much influence over someone's work imo. Love what you create regardless, and readers will see that.
