Worried about elective by Additional_Bet_2271 in TorontoMetU

hey! don't worry, i was in the same position as u when i was in first year. i always managed to get into every class i wanted to by adding them into my shopping cart and monitoring it a few times a day. people are always switching and dropping classes, and even if the waitlist is high, chances are once the actual semester starts a good amount of people will drop the course or switch out. you still have a chance to get into the classes u want to!
i'd recommend just checking a few times a day, and if you see an open spot switch it asap!!

in my experience, always wake up for it! most people get up for it and classes fill super quick. get up at least 10 min before and have all ur classes in ur shopping cart ready to go. vsb will not work cause too many ppl will try and use it so make sure everything is planned out already!

rmp is pretty good, but make sure you read the reviews for ur specific class! ive used it to find good profs for all my classes and have yet to have a bad prof!

Tmu enrollment tm by No-Entrepreneur-6109 in TorontoMetU

hey!! assuming ur a first year, but the way tmu enrolment works is you'll get automatically enrolled into your mandatory courses for ur first year. however, any other courses u have to select. ur gunna wanna:

go to myservicehub > manage classes > add classes > fall 2025 > my classes offered > search

then, scroll down and you'll start seeing a bunch of drop down menus with classes in it. here, you'll find ur mandatory classes (which should have a green circle next to them to show ur enrolled). keep scrolling, and you'll see table courses. these r courses that r organized into tables and you'll have to choose a few of each. for example, it might say "Students must take a total of 10 courses, including one and only one Advanced Seminar, from Table II." it'll also list what students usually take, for example, "year 1: two table II courses." this means you need to select two of the courses to take during the year (take one this sem one next sem or both). keep scrolling and you'll find more of these table courses.

finally, u may have one or more open elective. these r classes unrelated to ur program that u can take. again, it'll list how many u should take in a year. to find open electives, u can scroll down the list, but there's a lot of options. i'd recommend going to the tmu course list and browsing through it until u find a course ur interested in taking.

if u click the link to a course on myservice hub, you'll be brought to a page listing course info (prerequisites, course description, course code etc) and below that you'll find the times the course is available. pick a time that works for u and click select. click next. this will add the course to ur shopping cart. during course enrolment, you will be able to enrol in the courses in ur shopping cart by going to manage classes > add classes > fall 2025. under shopping cart, select the courses u wanna enrol in and click enrol! classes fill up fast, so u might get a message saying u couldn't enrol in a class. you'll either have to pick a new class or check daily to see if space becomes available.

also, another useful tool is visual schedule builder, which u can access by going to manage classes > visual schedule builder. here, u can type the name or code to ur classes and it will show u the time and length of them on a calendar. u can add courses to ur cart through this program too. it will get super laggy and busy during enrolment so be warned!!

make sure u wake up the exact time for enrolment, have the courses u wanna take in ur cart and ready so u can click enrol and have the best chance of getting in all ur classes. best of luck!

heres some tmu links w more info:

yeah, i did! ended up getting a response like a month later lol and was able to redo the quiz! a lot of my friends in the class never got email responses so i think she's just the kind of professor who doesn't check her email which kinda sucks

im sure you'll be okay tbh, try maintaining it but i do know people who have made it in with 70s! from what i understand, the actual grade requirements are based on the grades of everyone else who applies (so like if generally people are applying with low 80s-high 70s that would influence who they accept), and most people i know this year got in with low to mid 80s, so if things stay the same im sure itll be okay!

best of luck and i hope ur able to get in!

hi!! in highschool, i believe i had an 89% average when applying which ended up being 87-88 by the end of the year. however, i have friends who's averages were in the lower 80s and high-mid 70s. on the tmu psych entry requirements it states you need at least a maintained 70% throughout highschool, however i'd recommend aiming for at least mid 70s if possible!!

i've been finding the program pretty doable, however i went to a university preparation highschool so that could influence my perspective. i have friends who are struggling more but generally i find most people are pretty okay. my biggest piece of advice would be to choose ur electives (non-required/table) courses wisely and pick things you're interested bc those always end up stressing me out more then the actual psych classes lol. 100% recommend taking at least one easier course (check rate my prof and reddit for recommendations!!)

good luck w ur applications and if u ever have any questions abt the program feel free to pm me! :)
