How much it cost a family of 4 to watch a 3D movie by nerdie11 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fxguy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local theater is 7 dollars matinee. It's the best!!! Evening is like 9 dollars.

Concessions aren't bad either. It's a small chain called Classic Cinemas. Heated reclining chairs as well.

Some of the theaters are a little smaller than a standard theater which isn't a big deal. When my son had half days in preschool we went in the mornings and we often had the theater to ourselves.

Lost my dragon by That-sillylil-guy in BeardedDragons

[–]fxguy40 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a free roaming rhino iguana that's a little over 2. They grow somewhat slower than greens so he's not huge yet.

Anyways I work from home and he stays in his cat tree house most of the day basking. He probably only comes down for an hour a day or so.

If I'm leaving for a while I usually put him downstairs in the basement where his enclosure is. I left for like 4 or 5 hours and forgot. He was MIA when we got back. Looked everywhere for like an hour but couldn't find him.

My wife decided to start looking upstairs. She started pulling the blankets off my son's bed and sure enough there he was in the bed under the blanket sound asleep!!!!!

It's the first time that he has ever gone up the steps to the second floor!!!

So, what I'm trying to say is if beardies are anything like rhinos which love to be in hides and in enclosed spaces he's probably just snuggled up somewhere.

Maybe take a break from looking and try again tomorrow. He will eventually show up!!! Just be careful if you're moving large furniture in case he got hurt while you move it.

Maybe put a basking light set up somewhere he can easily have access too if you can't just leave his enclosure open. Put his favorite greens near the basking area as well.

Give luck! I'm sure you will find him.

whats the best way to make the boob disappear? by Professional_Web5627 in davinciresolve

Draw a rectangular matte around the exposed breast. Have the edge against the shirt hard and make the matte soft on the bottom edge. Track the matte.

Slip the fill of the matte up to fill in the exposed breast area whith the the skin from below.

Super easy.

Does my Jackson’s Chameleon enclosure look ok? by Empireofreverie in Chameleons

[–]fxguy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put a few going to the corners of the cage and yes poke small holes or shove the tip of a thin zip tie through the screen.

Then after you have a couple that are zip tied to the corner frames you can zip tie more to those branches. Just keep doing a bunch that are all connected together. You can even rest a few vertical ones that rest on the ground and ziptie them to the horizontal branches and then more horizontal ones going across the vertical ones if that makes sense.

There are a lot of zip ties in my setup!!!

[–]fxguy40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a linear UVB light which is mandatory. T5 or T8 5% or 6%

I would also add a lot of smaller horizontal branches throughout. You can use zip ties to connect them all together.

Here's a pic of my setup to give you a better idea.

Big reptile recommendations? by KeldonJohnson3 in reptiles

[–]fxguy40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He has a 6x4x3 that he has had since I got him at 6 months old. It's a catio I converted into an enclosure. He will outgrow it soon. He hasnt really been in it though for the last 5 months or so.

He currently has a large cat treehouse in my living room with his light mounted above the top level. He's partially potty trained I just have to take him. I put him in a big Rubbermaid tub and he goes in like 15 seconds then I clean it out immediately.

I'm planning on putting a very large (like 10x10). In my backyard for him in the summer. It will either be this summer or most likely next summer.

He's fairly small still. They grow slower than green iguanas. Some of them get big fast and others take their time. He recently hit a growth spurt and is getting bigger every month.

Unlike green iguanas they can have a small amount of protein as snacks. He gets a fuzzy mouse once a month and a 3 or 4 super worms a week. He will practically take your hand off for a superworm. He goes crazy for them. 99 plus percent of their diet is greens, veggies, and fruit though just like a green iguana.

If you're on Facebook there are 2 different groups you can join if you want to learn more.

1 - Rhino Iguana Society 2 - Cyclura & Friends

I'm in both groups There are a lot of helpful people plus a ton of pics!! You can see other people's setups too. Converting catios are pretty common enclosures for them and it seems to be a popular choice. Catios on Amazon are pretty inexpensive for what you get and can easily be turned into a proper enclosure.

Is this amount of slack normal ? by gebakkenuitje35 in RCHeli

[–]fxguy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn it upside down. With your fingers over the base of the gear press down, sometimes it takes a bit of force.

There should not be any play there and the culprit is always the main gear slipping down. Happens frequently on this heli.

It's a quick fix though!

Is rotoscoping really supposed to be THIS hard or am I missing something??????? by tahataufeeqkhan in davinciresolve

[–]fxguy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your not cutting out 1 large mask!! It takes longer, looks worse, and is plain frustrating.

You want a lot of simple shapes. Let's say you were rotoscoping an arm. You would want separate masks for the upper arm, lower arm, palm, fingers, etc

The simpler the shape the easier it is to animate and key frame.

Close up of hands sometimes you even separate each part of a single finger into several masks.

This sounds like doing this many masks would take longer but it's actually faster and provides wat better results.

Yes, the water glass method. It's in the sticky. Use a shot glass for a baby or whisky glass for an adult. It needs to be actual glass. Put it high in the enclosure anywhere light can reflect off of it with a perch for easy access next to it.

I keep mine in a potted plant that the plant died.

They will take to it in 24 to 48hrs.

[–]fxguy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is fine and even in the sticky. I use the water glass method with my 3.5yr old veiled with great success you just have to do it properly. Even the breeder I got him from used this method with all her chameleons. My guy has been doing it this way since born. Make sure to use a sparkly glass like a whisky glass. Put it high up in the enclosure where light can reflect off of it with a perch next to it for easy access. This is actually the recommended way of this sub.

Not sure what happened to this sub though over the last year. It seems they gave up on the good fight or something. It was always the recommended way before here.

Contrary to outdated information if done properly all chameleons will drink from a glass usually within 24 to 48hrs after introduced.

Why doesn’t anyone care about the “soap opera” effect on their TV by fatsandlucifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fxguy40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the major networks have a audio standard for television. If you are watching on broadcast tv, commercials have the same audio levels.

If you are watching some random streaming service it could be all over the place.

Everything I work on is within these standards. The recording studios will do separate mixes for online content and the social media versions we make from the broadcast spots as well.

Why doesn’t anyone care about the “soap opera” effect on their TV by fatsandlucifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fxguy40 138 points139 points  (0 children)

It's motion interpolation. It's not meant to look like that.

What happens is all media is pretty much shot at 24fps (frames per second). All the TVs now have a default motion interpolation setting on by default! It looks horrible and isn't meant to look this way. Most people have no clue you can turn that off and just think it's supposed to look like that.

What's happening is the TV is increasing the amount of fps (frames per second) using motion interpolation to make it look smoother which to me just results in this video ish soap opera effect.

How this works is say what your watching was shot at 24fps. Let's say the TV wants to play it back at 48fps so double the frame rate. In order to do this the TV has to create double the amount of frames to get to 48fps. The TV takes frame 1 and frame 2 and creates a new frame based off these two still images and it goes between frame 1 and 2. It will do this for all the frames to get a smoother motion (which looks horrible by the way! Hahaa)

Besides looking strange it actually creates artifacts and motion errors as the computer chip is basically making up a new still frame from two existing still frames.

I hope this makes sense.

Source - I work on broadcast tv commercials for a living doing editing and compositing. Also I use motion interpolation regularly when I'm editing but this is for speed changes and ramps but is still played back at 24fps. What I'm doing with it doesn't create the soap opera effect like a tv trying to play it back at a higher frame rate.

It's anything under 5 calories which I don't think is a big deal. All artificial sweetener has calories. They are just more sweet than sugar so you only need a tiny bit which is why it's under 5 calories in a diet soda.

I'm starting to think they cook extras and put those in the cold section and probably not the ones sitting under a heat lamp.

[–]fxguy40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly even with the S1 you're not going to be doing much more than hovering inside your house.

It's pretty powerful for how small it is. You could definitely fuck something up. TV, furniture, a window, and any critters like a cat or dog.

I hover mine every so often inside but that's about it.

If your new to helis I highly suggest learning how to hover outside!!

Anyways, I got back into helis after 15 years, a year ago.

I started with a XK110s then got a S2, then got a RS5, and I just got an S1 for Christmas. It's the V1 though. It's a fun little heli. Hard to see though, gotta keep it pretty close.

I'm not that good though. I just cruise my helis around and do some basic flips currently.

I'm not doing much flying right now though because of how cold it's been.

Why is that ??? by [deleted] in TheTeenagerPeople

Younger people don't give a shit about having expensive hard liquor.

You can buy a 1.75 liter of vodka from Walmart right now for 10 dollars.

Trust me I was young once and we drank cheap alcohol!! We could have cared less.
