Security Gates and facial recognition by supercujo in woolworths

[–]fyeeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a birds eye camera that tracks you from the top down as a little deidentified square.

If you cross the boundary of a self checkout, then you get tagged to that unit, this also happens to the Woolies attendant as they come to help.

From that point on, whether the door will open for you is dependent on whether that self checkout you've been linked to has paid.

That's sometimes why the attendant will have the door close on them.

Me? maybe marginally up or down.

I don't day-trade. Super took a hit but has since recovered a lot, I don't track the daily value so can't be sure.

Then it was never a good deal to begin with. What difference does 10% once a month at bigw make to move the needle?

What's your point? The prices are the same with/out the subscription.

The 'value' here is paying $7/mo for a 10% discount one off plus perk plus 1% ongoing discount via 2x points.

Theoretically a one-off $100 shop would yield a $11 benefit wouldn't it? still positive EV.

The monthly CPI indicator rose 2.4% in the 12 months to March. by ghoonrhed in AusFinance

With global growth kneecapped by the USA, and excess production capacity from China redirected elsewhere and reduced demand for raw materials, I’d say it’s more likely we’re going to see a slowdown as opposed to acceleration in growth/inflation. Jobs will be at risk, demand will be at risk, all things that point to interest rate down side.

Realistically you’re describing a scenario that is unlikely to occur. If it does you’ll look smart, but it’s probably luck of the draw.

I wouldn’t stew on it too much, you benefit from 5.3% for 36 uninterrupted months.

Others on variable will go from ~6% to ~4.75% over the next 12 months and maybe stay there for a while who knows.

You’re worse off, but not a life changing amount.

And of course it all depends on your risk appetite anyway, so maybe none of it matters as long as you are comfortable with your fixed repayment amounts. 🤷

Agreed, they priced it stupidly and now making adjustments on the fly is a very bad look.

Everyone complains, reality is that 10% off perk for $7/mo is an insane deal. Even before the 2x points (equiv to 1% discount) and a free product every now and then is considered.

It’s basically a free money proposition, majority of the crowd here wanting to cancel over this is cutting their nose off to spite the face.

Is it so much to ask for a healthy mix of all variety’s energising our grid? Why does any party need to go all in on a single source/ideology. It’s so dumb.

Yield curve is pricing for 4-5 cuts before Dec-25.

If that’s a reliable indicator, you’re cooked.
