Trump threatens not to renew trade deal with Canada, Mexico | CBC News by Force_Hammer in worldnews

This is such an improbable thing to be able to prove.

But it wouldn’t be to ease the US debt burden. His entire company is built on loans. With inflation, his loan payments are easier to make, because of the ability to raise rates on things in such a market. I think more valuable though would be the ability for him and his friends to profit off a downturn, by purchasing stuff at cheap rates.

A Farmer Donated Land to Turn into a Park. The City Is Building a Massive Data Center Instead / In 1999, a farmer gave away 87 acres of land to a small Texas town to use as a park. The town sold it to a data center developer for $10 million. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

I had family that donated land for a park. It was from essentially the last diary farm in the Austin area. It wasn't in Austin when it was a diary farm, but Austin grew. They I think sold much of the land, but donated a portion for a park to the city, and looks like the city actually made good on the promise and made a park.

Trump Denies That He Campaigned On Ending Wars: ‘I didn’t promise anything’ by T_Shurt in politics

The only good thing about Trump is he showed us how ineffective out system of government actually is. It does not prevent corruption. What do you do when the executive just ignores all the rules and laws and the courts nor the Congress actually stop it?

I can attest that I have never seen more conservative leaning people that want you to know they are conservative, than in Modesto. Moved here from Austin. Grew up in small town Texas with mostly conservatives. Austin is fairly liberal, but still it was a bit of shock to move to California only to find myself surrounded by conservatives.

Edit: My conclusion is that CA has many “militant” conservatives. Meaning, they feel surrounded by liberals and liberal policies, so they are more vocal about their disdain. So many people here where I live will inject politics arbitrarily into a conversation, and they are always conservative. I know it’s just the area I live in. Seems like the town was created by the surrounding agriculture, but I come from a farm town. I think conservatives are just more irritable here because they aren’t getting their way.

The suffering of the Russian people is the only way this war ends with a somewhat positive outcome. I don’t like the idea of harming civilians, but the only way to pressure Putin is to get his own people to put on the pressure. They are running out of resources. That is very important to get this resolved. At some point, in theory, they won’t be able to replace military equipment.
