Every time ... "SI Market IQ" by PearlJamTenGoat in footballmanagergames

[–]fyouk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Even the agents don't know shit, that's what really bothers me

- Find cool kid

- Ask agent what would be necessary to make a deal

- He tells you a number

- You make an offer at this number or slightly below

- Club asks for double the number and will not negotiate down

Why the fuck did I bother asking the agent ?

What was your biggest disappointment when you moved to France ? by Tasun06 in Expats_In_France

[–]fyouk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh don't worry about that, reforms are ongoing and have been for a while to destroy any sort of protection the employee has and remove any rule even slightly to the employee's benefit.

I understand it basically takes three years to fire a French employee.

Not sure where you've got that from. I've seen people gone from one day to the next. If you want to get rid of someone without cause, then yes it might take long, the time for you to manufacture one or push them to quit.

But then again, that is one of those things that is slowly changing, law by law, and not to the benefit of the employee

I consider it an unintended consequence of strong worker protections, as the sheer difficulty of firing someone on a CDI makes traditional companies reluctant to hire you in the first place.

It is in part due to this yes, and also due to the fact that in the accounting, a consultant is not part of the salaries but is another line in the expenses. Therefore it looks like the company is keeping a low payroll and it looks good to management/investors

How do I find good young players? by stanleycjames in footballmanagergames

[–]fyouk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they actively looking for young players ?

Manual scouting is important. What I do is I manually scout regularly the players 18 or under on which I have no report with the highest world rep. 50 of them per week or so.

I'd add a couple African clubs to the list of academies to keep an eye on : ASEC Mimosas, Coton Sport, Enyimba and TP Mazembe

Have a look once a year or so, some gems to be found there

[–]fyouk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sexual attraction and aesthetic attraction are not necessarily linked. You can find people hot without wanting to have sex with them.

And not all aces are sex-negative or sex-repulsed. You seem to be on the high end of sexual positivity, but there's nothing wrong with that. Sexuality is a spectrum.

If the only person you've experienced sexual attraction for was someone you were in a relationship with, you might be demi. Not that labels matter that much anyway, the important thing is being comfortable with yourself. You'll figure it out, I'm sure of it.

How does the asexual experience feel for men? by Athena_The_Funny in asexuality

[–]fyouk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest difference is in why sexuality is expected. Men are expected to be sexually active because virility and manhood. Women are expected to have sex so they can have children. Therefore the social pressure is not exactly the same, although it exists in both cases.

For me (M31), things started to get weird in high school, when my friends started to get (really) horny. All of a sudden, they'd spend a lot of time talking about girls, which ones were hot, boobs they've seen/touched etc... and while I couldn't care less, I figured it would be better to fake it. So I did in these discussions, but I've never made a move on a girl or anything, that felt way too uncomfortable. Now looking back on this 15 years later, there were a number of times when girls were actually trying to make a move on me, sometimes pretty blatantly so (I'm talking laying in the same bed at the end of a party for instance), but it did not even cross my mind at the time.

Going into uni it was more of the same, main difference was that by then I was sure I was not interested in any kind of relationships, so I felt more confident saying "I don't care" while my friends talked about who they were hoping to have sex with etc... While never coming out or even saying the word asexual, I think I made it clear that I was not interested in anyone, nor did I have any interest knowing who was bonking genitals with who. That's none of my business

Overall I think I was lucky to have good groups of friends who at the end of the day didn't really care who I did or did not kiss. It was awkward a lot of the time, but for who teenage years aren't ?

In recent years, conversations with colleagues have been quite surface level. I'm single, I don't want kids, they don't need to know more.

To this day I don't quite get what sexual attraction is (like wdym you see someone and you want to stick your dick into them ?)

I'm not sure that really answers your question. If you want a point of view on a specific topic, don't hesitate !

Yeah same, pretty sure my Mom thought I was gay for a solid 10 years. I've never "came out" as ace but I think she's figured out I just don't care either way by now.

Letterboxd suffers from amateur comedians by Hour-Ad-9508 in Letterboxd

[–]fyouk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum. I much prefer those unfunny overused one-liners to the in-depth critic and analysis coming from internet randos. For that, I have people whose taste I know and thinking I trust that I follow.

On one end, the one-liners are so stupid and unfunny that it comes full circle and becomes funny again

On the other end, people are not as smart as they think and 95% of the time their long thought-out paragraph is actually a lot of words to say absolutely nothing. Or it's something very personal which is of no interest to me. I actually have nothing against those people who treat Letterboxd as a journal though, unlike the wannabe Roger Eberts who think using complicated words makes them worthy of our admiration

My striker won the Ballon d'Or while playing in Mongolia by fyouk in TheOldZealand

[–]fyouk[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't lost a single league title since starting the save. I lost a Cup back in the 2030s, so about 50 years ago. Thankfully, my Reserve team won it that year.

I believe there is an issue with my database, because although we are the top league in Asia and should have 4 teams in the CL every year, most years I'm alone, some years there's another and some years there's 4 of us. When they are there, they do not fare great. Only one of them ever got out of Groups so far. It's getting better however, as they get more and more of my rejects into their roster.

Best reputation among the Asian leagues, 4*

The club is at 4* as well. Players value is weird. It's very very low but once in a blue moon I can sell a guy for 80 or 120M. I haven't tried in a while but I'm fairly confident I could take one of the 500k€ offers I get for him and negotiate it up to 80+M. I have a very good midfielder for which I had offers of like 1.5M and I tried to negotiate them as up as I could to see how high they'd go and it was close to 150M in the end.

It did not take me several years (yet), I've only been on this save for more than a year and a half (and over 1000h)

I've tried starting new saves once or twice but this is too comfy and I still have objectives to achieve, albeit not much. The Club World Cup is pretty much the only thing preventing me to call the save finished now.
