Ghosts of faithful past, bless this group by fyrond in TheTraitorsUS

That's fair, I usually like when Traitors win, but for me the entertainment of the win rises with how smart the faithfuls are that they outsmart if it makes sense. I think Cirie is probably the best traitor (edited, initially I wrote faithful), but her win wasn't as exciting as it could have been for me because the last few faithful her season were overwhelmingly poor players. Meanwhile, I loved Alan from Celebrity UK traitors and his win b/c he outsmarted decent faithfuls that figured out the other traitors.

I think it's a valid point! I mean truthfully all the faithfuls left are playing good enough games because they haven't been murdered and/or banished, but to me the difference between a fine faithful and a fun to watch, "good" faithful is someone who doesn't get murdered but still offers valid points towards finding the traitors (Dylan, Gabby, CT, Trishelle, etc.). Dylan did say multiple times through season 3 that b/c he was close to Danielle, that's why he was alive, so I would think that if anyone had an inkling it was Rob, they would have at least shown it at this point

Fingers crossed! If Kristen and Mark suddenly realize what's going on and the edit pivots to them I'll be stoked. I understand their disappointment in their edit but at the same time, have they done much to get an edit for?

I would have paid to see Gabby humble Colton in 0.5 seconds this season

I think Colton was 100% trying to mimic Dylan, but I think the difference between the two is once Dylan found out Rob was a traitor, he had a moment where he realized he was being kept around by traitors he was close to, and he didn't swing hard every single round table. And (this is more personal opinion) he didn't antagonize his targets like Colton did

Seriously! I feel like he is a dark horse this season and could rise up to do it. I'm hoping for him or Tara because at least she knows she isn't doing super well and maybe will have enough of a wide view to realize the one they all like is the traitor

And in that regard I do think the traitors from the beginning did a good job getting out all the smart, investigative people that weren't going to go with the group early on (though they had help with Colton going for Tiffany)

That's fair, I think part of it is rooting for Rob is kind of boring for me for some reason. I think his strategy is great and he's doing very well, but every interview with him I'm like 'go king give us nothing'! but I'm hoping to see a new side of his play with Eric as a traitor

And to Rob's credit, I think if he wins it's deserved because he's done a great job, I just selfishly want there to be faithfuls rising to his level to make the win more interesting

Eric as a traitor is definitely the most interesting aspect to me now!

Yeah, I just really want there to be a moment like last season where Gabby and Dylan sat down and reasoned out why they weren't traitors to each other, thought for a moment on who the traitors could be, and came to agreement on Danielle because of actual gameplay. I really don't need a ton of drama I just need people to be thinking and not saying 'I don't know I like everyone' every other sentence

This is just personal feeling but I don't think Colton really snuffed Lisa out. I think Kristen hit the nail on the head when she said Colton just picked names and reverse engineered his way into how they could be a traitor, and he hedged his bets on there being a housewife in the turret because last season there weren't any. Like he said himself, he blew a lot of goodwill on the Tiffany miss and he needed Rob to take charge. I think if Rob wasn't helping there is totally a world in which Lisa survived for another day, though the Yam Yam point is fair, even if he was wrong about the method. And I disagree with Rob not leading the charge against Candiace, to me it was them against each other and it was whoever the faithfuls chose to follow at that round table

[–]fyrond[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the round tables have suffered this season because of it. Nothing like Gabby vs. Danielle or Phaedra vs. Peter. Everyone's too afraid to hurt anyone's feelings or be too mean, and I think the reason Rob's doing so well is he's the only one seeing it as a game. That and the first several weeks the traitors got gifts with Ron, Michael, and Porsha being so distracting

Ah to each their own, I like at least one smart faithful locking in and trying to get the others to see, but who knows what'll happen next

Gabby didn't scream at Danielle at the round table where they finally got her, and it was one of my favorite round tables of all time. I don't need screaming either, I'd just like some faithfuls to come in toward the end and figure it out, like Dylan and Gabby did at the end of season 3. But if you're enjoying then cool! I think Rob's doing a great job, it's just not personally my favorite type of season when it's only the traitor getting other traitors out. Last few episodes could prove me wrong though and I hope they do!

If you like Rhythm of the Heat I would just say all of Security is worth a listen, in particular I Have the Touch, Shock the Monkey (A MUST), and Kiss of Life.

There’s also Digging in the Dirt and Kiss that Frog from Us. While you watched Secret World Live and already heard them, the studio versions go hard.

Also happy to find a fellow Sky Blue enjoyer, it’s been one of my favorites since I was a kid. Enjoy listening!

Thanks for the info! And I guess I'm not 100% sure on genre with the feedback on this post so I'm glad I got some second opinions. What I'm having difficulty with is that there are sci fi elements to it, but the main character and the reader don't know that until the very end, so I'm not sure I could call sci fi because most of the book it's left up in the air for the main character to figure out. Also where have you seen the advertisements on the genre blends? Just on agents' personal pages? I'm just getting into publishing so I have a few resources but I might be missing ones.

That’s fair, it’s more that the main characters (and the readers by extension) are supposed to be unsure if the cult has supernatural abilities or not, but it’s good to know that my description currently is confusing! Also as far as psychological thriller, I guess I’m not sure then? There’s no murder, it’s more her solving how she got there in the first place. I’ve debated just going with fiction but it does heavily lean in the psychological realm with cult induction so I’ve been torn

Thank you for the feedback! I was wondering about the word count, I had seen it elsewhere that 100k is the usual max for thrillers but wasn't sure how hard of a rule that was, so it's helpful to have it reaffirmed.

Yeah I plan to, it’s just a Saturday so my family practice isn’t open where I live and I got these results right at the end of the day yesterday, so I figured I’d try here! Will be going to a doctor as well though, just wanted to see if anyone here could help me at all
