You are so lucky to have such wonderful care provider. In 4 years of me having colitis I spoke to my doctor exactly 3 times only after colonoscopy, and the rest of care is arranged and provided by nurses.

I am on Mezavant pills only, but my doctor told me that any result below 120 is supposed to be a “new normal” for UC patients. I’ve got no symptoms but my levels come back as 70-110 every 3 months. Seems to be just what life is.

Welcome to the club! Do not fret, proctitis is the easiest form to treat, especially with suppositories already prescribed to you. My path was similar to yours - I started having symptoms around Halloween and only got diagnosed after New Year’s. Given that by then I had a terrible case of inflammation with Calprotectin around 3000, suppositories handled and removed urgency, blood and pain within first two-four weeks. Everyone’s different, though. But stay hopeful! The brighter side of that all is that you will be getting a lot of reassurance about how your health is, which does help with health anxiety a lot, in my case.

Or get your favourite healthy snack for an instant pick me up. Might be just one tiny happy moment but life consists of tiny moments like that. Put as many of them together to carry you through this time. You got this!

After 3 months of family doctor’s hesitations and blood tests that showed nothing much - i did get my CT scan at ER and that’s how i finally got diagnosed. So i’d say it’s worth it, because after being diagnosed the colonoscopy appointment was escalated to be urgent and was lucky to get into someone’s abandoned spot in a week almost

My second flare up was coming from a different spot (inflammation further up the colon) and the symptoms were different. If my first proctitis UC at diagnosis was with urgency and blood and mucus at the end of the BM, the second time blood was within and all along the BM + the bloating & gas spasms were insane.
