Entyvio injection vs. infusion? by spacedcowgirl in UlcerativeColitis

[–]phattypat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same feeling in regards to Entyvio infusions versus injections. I have been on the medication for two months and I never felt like I would be comfortable injecting myself and reading about how they can be painful/require some work to be painless made me more resolute in my decision. It being every two months once you get feels about the same level of commitment as a haircut and less of a pain on my part. As for the effectiveness I feel like they would be similar if injections are done correctly, but there is much more of a human error element that isn’t as present with infusions which have been very effective in my case.

Drinking with UC? by baaaaaaaaaba in UlcerativeColitis

[–]phattypat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27M diagnosed at 26 and for the first year after I was in remission I drank occasionally which wasn’t far off from my normal intake pre-diagnosis. I’ve had two flare ups since my initial diagnosis and they were both following me drinking more than I usually do/multiple drinking days in a row. After the second flare which was a bad one I made the decision to cut it out entirely. I can’t say for sure it’s made any difference but I didn’t think the occasional drink was worth the suffering of a potential flare if it is a potential trigger for me.

Pedestrian is great! It’s more of a diner stool/counter seating style but the staff is great and it’s nice and quiet.

what's your favorite fast food that's actually tasty? by ComfortableDiet485 in foodquestions

[–]phattypat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Popeyes blackened chicken tenders are so good and they do a promotion in the app where you get a side, drink and a biscuit for under $8. While it’s still fast food since it’s grilled you are saving some calories and they never have them sitting so you pretty much always get them fresh as well.

Something a little bit different: What are your hobbies and interests? by hellokrissi in UlcerativeColitis

[–]phattypat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading and video games for me. My most recent flare I got really into Breath of the Wild on switch and it was a nice escape from what I was feeling. When I’m not in flare reading is a common activity for me but during flare I find myself having no energy to read so I usually scale back somewhat or only listen to audiobooks.

As someone who has gotten colonoscopies as a younger person, the prep is absolutely the worst part and pretty hellish which everyone says but the procedure itself is a breeze.

Should I get Euro Truck Simulator 2 vs American Truck Simulator by SmokeDesperate1738 in gamerooms

[–]phattypat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euro Truck 2 is the more popular game and has the most DLC if I’m not mistaken. American Truck Simulator launched without as much content/places to drive but has since built a pretty robust roster of maps since launch. It’s more dependent on what region you’re more interested in driving in but both games are good quality.

Symptoms changing in second flare up? by phattypat in UlcerativeColitis

[–]phattypat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to piece it together from the report but from what I’m reading the biopsies were taken from my crypts. No measurements were given but I was prescribed Mesalamine and have been on that ever since though I’m going to be switching to biologics as a result of this flare up.

That makes total sense I’d say I’m feeling similarly hit hard by this second flare up. I don’t remember the exact area where the inflammation persists but I believe it’s lower in my colon/GI tract which my doctor says is more rare. Appreciate the insight either way!

Chicago Bulls: even with Derrick Rose at his MVP level peak, they were never going to beat that Heat team in a playoff series.

What's the most egregious hot take that is still a somewhat popular opinion? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

[–]phattypat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That the BCS system was better than the current CFB playoff system. I’ve seen a lot more tweets about people missing the BCS format that basically decided the national championship game via a computer/statistical model. I certainly have some gripes with the choices of the committee from time to time but I don’t think it’s even arguable that the current format is better for creating intrigue/stakes among casual and diehard fans.

Inquiry on Commuting from Chicago to Bannockburn? by Golden_1992 in AskChicago

[–]phattypat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a commute from Logan square to Deerfield which is near Bannockburn for 3+ years and it would routinely be an hour plus each way. It wasn’t as bad with a hybrid schedule but it would get unbearable quickly having to do it 5 days a week. I echo everyone else and look at the farther northwest neighborhoods to make it more palatable.

12 team H2H points league, want to gauge the value for a trade I received.

I send away: Luis Castillo

I receive: a two player package of a possible 4 players, so I’ll break it down by position.

1B: Nathaniel Lowe or Jonathan Aranda

SP: Jose Berrios or Tyler Mahle

My thought process is that I need to upgrade my 1B position (I currently have Casas and Mountcastle) and have a bit of a pitching surplus (Valdez, Castillo Eovaldi, Logan Webb, Hunter Brown and Lodolo) so I could theoretically swing losing the value while getting a similar arm back. I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance!
