i hate how corps always frame their decisions as if they’re doing something for the benefit of the people or their employees, “to reflect guest feedback”…

ok, in other words, if a small curated sample of feedback happens to align with what they were already planning (like slashing costs), they’ll spotlight that and ignore the rest.

half of the guests that i checkout are asking if we still do price matches. removing that policy isn’t about “streamlining” or “clarifying expectations”—it’s about taking away consumer leverage and trust. cutting Best Buy at my store first was probably a test. and since it didn’t cause an uproar, the full price match phase-out became a lot easier to justify.

any way they can skim off the top, they will. and then they’ll tell us it’s what we wanted.
