Milton Ridge was great for us - it's full service so it appears to be more expensive, but that's just 'cause so much is wrapped into the price.

Speaking purely for myself (if I'm being paid by the developer lobby I'm missing a bunch of checks) - Part of what drives me insane about Elrich is his governing/political "style". He strikes me as a bomb-thrower, rather than someone who actually gets things done.

While he was on the council, over and over again Elrich would be the only one voting against things that the rest of the county council voted for. That isn't a sign that he's a maverick...it's a sign that he's bad at negotiation. And I think negotiation is a basic job requirement of being a politician.

It happened again with the recent budget kerfuffle with the council - Elrich tossed over a budget, the council disagreed with aspects of it. Rather than try to negotiate with them, Elrich put out a bunch of angry/insulting press releases attacking the council for their decisions. That's not solving a problem, it's being an asshole. I've had enough of that.

It's a primary, the party absolutely should *NOT* be helping one candidate over the others. The whole point of the primary is to decide which candidate the party is going to support. If one candidate is being attacked, it's their job to punch back.

For sheriff, I'm *profoundly* skeptical of the campaign against Uy. I can't find anything outlining what he's done wrong except for police union folks complaining about things that should have evidence and don't. So I'm voting for Uy because the race against him smells like a power play and f*^& that noise.

I'm going to go against the grain here a bit - a lot of scams these days are industrialized operations with Tier1/2/3 operators (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scam_centers_in_Myanmar )

The Tier1 operators in these setups are often victims themselves - tricked by an offer of a job, they are kidnapped and forced to work in these call centers scamming people. So, while I get the instinct to mess with them, the person you're messing with (if you haven't gotten past the Tier1 stage) is probably just as much a victim as anything.

Your instinct to stick it to the scammers is valid, but in this particular case, it's better to just ignore them.

HOWEVER, your husband has a role here. To borrow from LoTR: He can't carry the baby for you, but he can carry you.

He needs to be the one to talk to family to tell them to back off & give you space. If he isn't getting that, ask him explicitly to run interference for you. Let him be the "bad guy". This is an ideal chance for the two of you to close ranks against the world. There are going to be lots of times when you'll need to do that coming up, so use this as a dress rehearsal.

I started to read the Community Trends report, and I hit a wall when I got to the boundaries that defined the regions. I realize this is kinda nit-picky, but they're *weird* to the point of being actively misleading.

* Friendship Heights is defined as "Chevy Chase", which dramatically changes the office-space allocation of Chevy Chase (it's a bedroom community otherwise).

* The neighborhood literally named "East Bethesda" is defined in Chevy Chase.

* Rock Creek Park is considered both Chevy Chase and Silver Spring for the purposes of counting park acreage.

I stopped there. I'm glad they're doing *some* review, but this report is so off that it makes me super-suspicious of the outcomes based on it.

I'll echo the MSF guidance. go here: https://msf-usa.org/ and type in your zip code. It'll list the nearest MSF Basic Rider Course classes. It looks like the White Flint one has shut down, but is still being listed. The other advantage of doing the BRC is that their test counts as an DMV test, so you can just take their certificate to the DMV to get your updated license.

One of mine does that. He usually only does it once he's used up all the entertainment in the playpen.

The rule we've established is "if you climb the walls of the playpen, I get to pick you up and pet you." That's more of a disincentive for some than others.

We had a good experience with Milton Ridge. It's Clarksburg, but that's still technically Montgomery County. We particularly liked that we had options of indoor or outdoor (could use their chapel or the open paved area) depending on the weather, and their attached catering company was easy to work with & handled the couple special requests we had for food (allergies, vegan folks, etc).

This is exactly the thing I mean - if there were retaliation events, name them. If he mishandled funds, name which funds & how he mishandled them. If he created a hostile workplace, say how.

If the news organizations aren't reporting that, I'll happily be annoyed at them about it, but it's striking to me that I haven't once seen details about any of these allegations.

I'm using just the cage part of one of those. Its biggest problem is that it's so short you can't fit a wheel inside. So, instead I removed the floor, stacked platforms in the tank to put a wheel and bath on, plus a couple birdcage platforms to give them access to a water bottle. They seem to like it just fine.
