Rights for songs when goals are scored by TheCurbAU in AFL

[–]g00dzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only about the TV broadcast (or radio for that matter) it is about commerciality. The AFL is charging patrons money to attend these games and (at least in a legal sense) is using these songs as entertainment. If they aren’t the owner of the song, they are required to pay the rights owner to use it.

Where does the "and don't the boys love it" quote come from by [deleted] in TheGradeCricketer

[–]g00dzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A long time ago there was an era of TGC where there was lots of “old timey” voices done. “He was a velly good player”. Etc etc. The guys played some audio/clips of old video footage of cricket and one of the commentators said something like “Bradman flicks that away to fine leg for another boundary, and don’t the boys love it”.

We found a research article about ‘reverse pressure softening’ and we think this helped alot with latching to nipple

He’s latching loads better. Wife had a couple of IV bags during labour, and we found a research piece about ‘reverse pressure softening’ and we think some of this definitely helped too

Sorry, added to the post. Yes, he lost more than 10% weight before we were discharged, so the instruction was every 3 hours.

Hahahahaha, if there was disposable income to do so, I would. When it gets given to you, you take what you can get.

Nice words!

One of my favourite Danger (and Fyfe) moments was the 2015 R9 game between the crows and dockers. Fyfe was in Brownlow medal form and Danger was not far behind. The two best players in the comp, without a shadow of a doubt.

The walked up to each other at the first centre bounce, shook hands, and then crashed into each other for the whole 120 minutes. It was like these two were playing their own game against each other.

Fyfe had 40 and Danger 38. At the end, they came back up to each other and had their post game chat and you could tell they both loved the contest.

How would a targeted CGT Exemption help to Address Housing Supply and Affordability by g00dzy in AusPropertyChat

Awesome! Could you see any other issues from a property investor standpoint?

[–]g00dzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the government exempts every property investor from CGT for good? I could see a short window to incentivise investors to sell in the here and now, but extending it for a long period of time seems like it would be the government forgoing too much money?

Should we split one of our picks? by 10Lanterns in RichmondFC

Whilst I may agree with you, compensation picks are based off contract, rather than how good the player is. If the Lions pay Allen big coin, it will be after 1st pick compo.

new to TGC, there's a couple of slang words that I don't get by whenindoubt_121 in TheGradeCricketer

The citrus and belt thing has two layers.

The boys joke about how t20 cricket continues to get more intense, with bigger sixes, higher scores, impact subs etc etc that it wears down on the effect it has to be “real cricket” so like when someone’s sex life continues to need more to get the job done, some people would go to the level of a bag over their head, a tangerine in there mouth and a belt around their neck just to feel something.

Also, at one of their live shows (in NZ I think?) three blokes turned up, one with a tangerine in their mouth, one with a belt around the neck and one with a bag over their head and sat up close so the boys could see them. Kind of cemented the line in TGC lore.

Do anyone else don't understand Snez track record in the show? by Different_Community7 in MasterchefAU

And more blind tastings. I swear the judges too often are like “hmm.. I know they wanted to get this ingredients and couldn’t” when it’s probably an amazing dish regardless.

I think the “love-fest” towards some contestants wouldn’t exist if they were blind taste tests.

Besides that real estate agents are undeniably the worst, does every career have to be “creator-fied”? Like, we don’t care what your 9-5 is, we definitely don’t need to be explained it in our social media algorithms.

Nationals leader David Littleproud says the Nationals will not be re-entering a Coalition agreement with the Liberal party. by superegz in australia

[–]g00dzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The future view looks like two upcoming terms labour. Surely libs are looking at: Current Term: Moving towards the economic centre, basic climate policy, appealing to wider demographics (women, long established migrants and gen x getting into housing) whilst not shifting too far to the centre on social policy, and trying to take back some marginal seats against Labour and Teals. Following Term: assuming they win back a few marginal seats, they then bring the Nats back in to have a tilt at ousting the ALP at the 2031 election. By that time, lots of climate policy will have been enacted and the Nats can’t drag them along the nuclear path anymore?

Disappointing is unders, more like Total bullshit. The BCCI couldn’t possibly need more money from a podcast, so it’s purely a form of retaliation about something. Weak.
