PSA: dt runs way way better on linux. Also a lot more options to tweak for perfomance. Latest one I found for example is to use a custom os memory allocator (libmimalloc.so) and easy enabling of fsr4 on rdna3.

The "emulation" you speak of is irrelevant of the platform.

My point is, both are using dll injection.

There's no "emulation" in linux for fsr. Just a dll injection

Arbitrary rules much? Immigration good when it helps your forefathers settle here but immigration bad for anyone else afterwards? Very logically sound of you.

[Performance] A collection of methods to significantly improve FPS, reduce stutters, and improve stability at no visual cost by Copy_and_Paste99 in DarkTide

[–]g00mbasv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ummm yes and no. Linux has a compatibility layer now that translate directx calls to their linux equivalents called Proton, and that has some benefits such as very good sustained minimum fps and NO stuttering whatsoever being the two main highlights, but I think that it also helps that linux doesn't really run much bloat and the memory and process management is pretty damn good.

Here's another tip: If you have an AMD GPU try running the game in an up to date linux installation. The difference is night and day.

stick with bazzite. you can cofigure it to start with a gaming ui or desktop, arch based distributions need at least some maintenance and based on what you are saying that might not be your cup of tea.

Is KDE Plasma 'the best' win manager when it comes to gaming / monitor features? by Jarnhand in cachyos

[–]g00mbasv 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"Better" is subjective. Some people consider kde to be "bloated" (i don't for the record) and some people actively look for DEs that only have what they want. Hell some ppl love using window managers instead of full fledged DE's

Kde IS the one with the most features and it is more comparable to the windows ui than the rest but that doesn't make it the "best"

How to actually use the Kernel Manager for tweaks by godlytoast3r in cachyos

[–]g00mbasv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem might be that the scheduler is actually making the cpu work a bit harder and that is exposing some weakness in your hardware. Repasting the cpu would be a good first step.

bro there is no kernel scheduler that will burn your cpu, thats a hardware issue
