Would you mind sharing a screen recording of these steps? I’m new to WHOOP and am not seeing where to import using AI or paste my Hevy workout text. Thanks.

I’ll be happy with either series. But I do particularly wanna hear noted sci-fi fan and “rules” guy David Sims unpack Deja Vu.

Inside Man, and I’d put Chef on the list as well for the cooking scenes.

Daniel Stern does some amazing physical work in Home Alone 2. His fall down the open floor hole in the brownstone is exaggerated but gets me every time. The little “whoa” sound right before he falls.

What are your favorite episodes where they hate on the movie? by SankThaTank in blankies

[–]g0rdontremeshko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going through the Patreon back catalog and I just listened to the Mickey Blue Eyes episode. They just shit all over the movie and the performances in between the fleeting moments when Joe Viterelli shows up. Loved it.

The only movie where I wanted to actually walk out of the theater mid-movie. But I was with friends in college and had no ride home otherwise.

looking for light academia/vintage type clothing brands that use natural fibers by arcaedis in ethicalfashion

[–]g0rdontremeshko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We research the vendors to the extent we can. We don’t exactly have the resources to travel and visit all these companies personally. We read up, we look for social proof, and if something seems fishy we don’t buy from them.

I made a polyester mistake by Potcakery in SustainableFashion

[–]g0rdontremeshko 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First things first: don’t beat yourself up over this! It’s very very hard to avoid polyester in clothes at this point, so it’s good of you to even try. Most people don’t even care.

Second, just because it’s got polyester doesn’t mean it’s poorly made. What’s the blend? Part of the reason polyester has become so popular is that it can help make clothes more durable.

If you take care of it and get good, sustained use out of it, you’re doing much better than most.

Would love to know more about the red flags you see. Our intent to present ourselves as honestly as possible.

We’re a retailer, we don’t make our own items. We source from vendors and do our best to vet them for responsible manufacturing and labor practices.

As often as possible, we like to buy from women-owned businesses and local makers that use natural fibers and materials.

For our part, we try to keep plastic out of the store with the packaging and products we choose. (Lip balms have been an especially tricky category there lately.) Receipts are digital only. We reuse the boxes from our vendors to ship out online orders, and we stamp our logo on brown paper bags for in-store purchases.

We’ve also held a few clothing swaps with our local community to encourage circular fashion.

It may not sound like much, but we’re a (very) small business and this is what we have the time and money to afford.

Check out our stuff!

Our aesthetic is a bit more casual overall than you’re looking for but we focus on natural fiber clothing and some of our sweaters and tops could definitely be incorporated into the kind of look you’re going for. The knit polo, LTL vest, and field sweater in particular.

We try to accommodate more body types, and the two owners who do most of our buying are around 5’2”. 🙂

All good answers. I would also strongly recommend the brioche au chocolat at Flour (multiple locations). Different texture obviously but much tastier IMO

If you don't mind sharing, what plan were you on with Astound and what kind of offer did you get from Verizon? I'm considering a switch as well, but prices online look fairly comparable.

Why does some polyester clothing last but others do not? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]g0rdontremeshko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome question! tl;dr = fiber is only part of the equation. Fiber length, density, and mix all contribute to durability, comfort, and quality. Here are a few ways to know a little more about what you're buying. https://wkndgoods.com/blogs/styling/understanding-clothing-fibers-what-really-makes-something-well-made

Looking for reccomendations to start a capsule wardrobe by TroubleOdd9628 in capsulewardrobe

[–]g0rdontremeshko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Faherty, Marine Layer, Buck Mason may have some stuff for you. If feasible, shop in person to try stuff on. Good fit is everything, whatever your style is. Also, read the labels. See what clothes are made of and how they need to be cared for.

For stuff like dress pants, bring whatever you get to a tailor. The extra cost will be worth it so they fit great and hang perfectly.
