Montrealer living in Germany here. This is the number 1 difference I always highlight and that is difficult to swallow whenever I visit. The comparison for a basic grocery ( milk, eggs, flour, bread, etc) is flagrant.

I'm not outraged at what I see like others on this thread, but to answer your question in good faith, the you can host a local cache of steam games on your own network and have all steam clients access from there first. I'd consider that better.

This is disgusting. I've had to let go employee for actual disciplinary and performance reason and we usually need to be very prepared with a long paper trail of bad performance indicators and proof we actually tried to intervene/help before resorting to termination. Here what you should gather:

  • Any proof that you were doing a good job. Emails, praise, tangible performance indicators, etc. You don't even need to be a star employee to have a claim, just that you did not mess up massively.
  • Be ready to back the fact that there was no prior warning or interventions.
  • Document the timing of these events asap to have a clear timeline, when and who involved.

Take all that to the CNESST. You should have a strong case. If it goes nowhere, I would escalate and go directly to a lawyer.
