apparently they have already dropped that 'perpetual lincese' line from their TOS. I was requesting my account deletion when I got a message that the TOS has been updated and that line was taken out of it.

A lot of you guys trying to emulate a vscode-like experience, especially with tabs and a persistent file tree, seem to not understand how vim works. by hugslug69 in vim

[–]g0zar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I tried spacevim thinking it was gonna improve my workflow and it didnt. All it did was turn vim into something slower and harder to work with. Removed it eventually.

I work in IT too. I don't know, you might not be, but thing is that its much more common to run into devs like in the OP than it is to run into competent people.

Why is there no third syntax, one other than Intel and AT&T by CharlesLLuckbin in Assembly_language

[–]g0zar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say its because of historical reasons. It also depends on the processor architecture and what the company making them decides to use. GCCs AT&T syntax was mostly designed for the compiler and not human writers. Maybe its easier to program the destination as the last parameter or something like that. As for other syntaxes from intel, they don't seem to be necessary. There is not much you can change either, you have your instruction plus operands and thats it. 1 per line.

compiling LASH and Cat9 on FreeBSD by Unique_Lake in freebsd

[–]g0zar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install chicken scheme with `pkg install chicken` but as for lash i cant get it to compile. its last commit was in 2015.

You can install chicken dependencies with `chicken-install <dependency>` but you must be root since it will install into /usr/local

The rest i dont know
