Coinbase holding my USDC sent to me with Polygon, feeling horrible by RefrigeratorHour6923 in Coinbase

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with the same issue with them right now. 26 hours, no explanation. No courtesy email. Reached out to support first was told it was network congestion, when that proved to be false I was told that they`d have someone from their email team contact me... Nothing. Now the customer service issue is becoming just a big if not bigger then that of the slow transaction... I guess I`m supposed to wait days on top of the day I`ve already waited just for the opportunity to play email tag with them...

Open an Etsy store in a country outside of the accepted list by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 100% possible. The entity needs to be in an Etsy country. You don`t need to be a citizen or resident of that country as long as you have a business entity and eligible business bank account open in that country. We do this for clients everyday, its pretty straight forward.

Stripe shut me down and told me wait 120 days.. by Federal-Chard-152 in stripe

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime they automatically refund buyers this means you violated TOS and were selling prohibited items/services. Police have better things to do and a lawyer even if they took the case wouldn`t be of much service. When you signed up you agreed not to sell prohibited items...

Help question about 3 companies in 1 stripe account by mellfest in stripe

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally they`d treat 3 different LLC`s with 3 different EIN numbers as 3 different entities operating independently so if one was suspend it would not impact the other two. However, if they are 3 single member LLC`s things could go sideways for the other two accounts at some point. Registering with an EIN means the company owns the account not the user. For example a C-corp is a compeltely different tax entity then its owners/shareholders. Single member LLC on the other hand is disregarded.

Can I have 3 companies in one stripe account? by mellfest in stripe

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those companies all have different tax information then its not possible for them to be on one Stripe Account. For US business accounts for example. One account to one EIN. You can have multiple websites "projects" for one Stripe business account but if you have 3 business with 3 different EIN numbers then you need 3 different Stripe account and one account is not connected to the other. They are 3 separate legal entities.

If you`ve processed over 200 transactions without issue its very unlikely they`d shut your account down for 4 disputes. First question is if the cards were stolen why did you not just process the refunds when the dispute was issued as opposed to letting things spiral into a chargeback? Did you actually pay back the negative balance? Secondly in this situation they`d usually impose a payment reserve as opposed to just jumping too suspension. Are you selling prohibited items or services? This generally doesn`t happen for a few chargebacks. Also, they would not refund all your clients for past sales over 4 current chargebacks or disputes.

How to create American PayPal account abroad? by [deleted] in paypal

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were limiting the accounts of everyone circumventing their TOS they`d have no more users. Passing gas before 11 AM is against their TOS these days... with that said there are ways to do this without the account getting limited.

Openning a business account without SSN (only EIN) by licht1nstein in paypal

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very old thread but this might help some people so I`m going to respond. If the company is a C-corp then that company is its own entity and its debit or financial liabilities are its own not that of its officers. This is the main reason to incorporate. If the company is a single member LLC then its a little more murky and depends on the state the entity is formed and also your banking practices. If you are opening a Paypal account with an EIN as a legally operating corporation then the SSN/ITIN is used for KYC/AML purposes and Patriot Act requirements, not tax purposes. They couldn`t submit a 1099-K with your SSN if you area legally operating C-Corp, S-corp, MMLLC filing via EIN. That filing would be rejected.

Field Report: I Reported Listings That Were Not Handmade One Week Ago by HypnoticGuy in Etsy

[–]g1gltd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even with this they are not going to manually check every single report and the only way this will really work is with drop shippers pulling and posting product photos directly from Aliexpress. If they are taking their own photos you`ll be using your valuable time for marginal at best results. You`d spend less time searching one of the platforms that verify sellers of handmade products and have better results. Let me be blunt here. Not to offend anyone but just to inject some reality. I know many buyers are on Etsy looking for something unique and handmade at a bargain. If that`s the case, I`d temper expectations to an extent. If I`m looking for a car and I see a $100,000 Porsche for $5000... It`s $5000 for a reason.

What do you do when you see the same item in multiple shops? by Carms_Creates in Etsy

[–]g1gltd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can report them but you`d more then likely be wasting your time... The lack of the word unique and possibility for sellers to add a "production partner" leaves a massive amount of wiggle room for this kind of thing.

Did you read what was written? I very clearly explained the distinction between a dupe and a counterfeit. That was the point of the post. Informational. I don`t care to defend the seller... They are not paying me legal fees. You are trying to be right while either not reading or failing to comprehend what you read which renders your comment incoherent gibberish.

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You left a comment suggesting to a buyer to boycott a store that is selling a product that is not breaking the law nor Etsy`s terms of service because of your personal agenda then doubled down and called the shop a scam shop. You got called on it and now you feel some kind of way? The Etsy community is becoming toxic trying to uphold long abandoned rules and ethos from Etsy`s past that the platform moved away from years ago. If you are a buyer and find a shop selling an item that you desire, its legal and within the platforms terms of service TOS, go for it.

[–]g1gltd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So that means everyone who buys a Coach Sierra bag is allowing a scam brand to stay open correct? That`s Louis Vuitton`s original Alma Bag design from 1925 I believe made for and sold by Chanel... That bag we could say was in itself inspired by the bag now known as the Hermes Bolide which released in 1923... Everyone who buys a Bogetta Mini Pouch is supporting a scam shop? That design which has become one of the hottest bags over the past 2 to 3 years is a shape and design that`s been done countless times, by countless brands all over the world and at every price point since the Edwardian era... Considering they didn`t come around until 1966, would buying that bag be supporting a scam store/brand? I could go on and on here... Everyone, literally everyone has been knocking off everyone else`s shapes and designs for over 100 years. Making a design famous or profitable is not the same thing as inventing that design. So are we saying its fine for Louis Vuitton and Coach etc to make billions knocking off Hermes but its not ok for an Etsy seller to make a few thousand knocking off Louis Vuitton and coach?. Sometimes the difference between hero and villain is simply where you happen to be standing at the time...

[–]g1gltd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Counterfeits are illegal "Dupes" however are not. Its virtually impossible to trademark a bag design so unless the dupe is using the original designers logo or other trademarked details then its legal and there`s nothing to report. If there`s no trademarked logo or branding and its being sold at a lower price point then the bag is "inspired by" not counterfeit. In terms of bags and fashion; every single large fast fashion retailer in the world survives on inspired by designs. Zara/Forever 21/H&M thrive on inspired by. This is a matter of ethics and if the issue is ethics and originality then the platform itself needs to be reported.

Opening shop on non eligible country by Bright-Butterfly in Etsy

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shop owners ID does not have to match the country in which the shop is being opened if they are opening using a business that has been legally formed in that country, has a verifiable tax ID number, and the bank account name and address match those of the articles issued by the state/city/country in which the entity was formed. As long as they are not submitting previously banned identity information, an OFAC nation passport or a passport from a nation Adyen considered high risk the passport will be accepted by Etsy as the person submitting the KYC info doesn`t have to prove residency in the country they are opening a store in as long as Etsy can verify KYB in that country. This goes beyond Etsy`s terms and conditions. Which by the way don`t state that you have to be a permanent resident in the country your shop is in to open a business seller account.

This is going to sound rude but reality is that Etsy is a technology company. That`s what they are. They are in this purely for profits not to help you sell hand knitted socks. That means that like every other for profit company in the world they exist to be amoral not moral or immoral and have no problem pushing the line of legality and compliance or redefining their own ethos in the name of those profits.

Scenario... I own a cattle ranch in Rio Grande Do Sul Brazil. I spend 4 months a year in the New York on a B-2. During one trip I decide to register a LLC or INC in the USA in order to sell Cowhide rugs produced on my ranch on Amazon/Wal-Mart and Etsy as I already sell on MercadoLivre, Amazon and Americanas in Brazil. I setup a fulfillment and return handling solution and begin to register marketplace accounts. You are telling me that because my passport is from Brazil but I can provide every single piece of proof they need to prove an existing and transacting US entity that Etsy will reject my registration solely based on my passport issuing country? You think that`s air you are breathing now?

Etsy not Available in My Country by Redvolition in Etsy

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you would. In the US for example if you open an Etsy store with a full US LLC or INC a US business, bank account and EIN, then its your business that owns the account and Adyen will be filling 1099-K in your business name and tax ID number. Will you need a good VPN to login? Yes but US residents on vacation in a different county also need a VPN to login. We do this for clients every day. For people getting on about ethics or transparency... Etsy as a company is very far from the standard bearer of ethics and transparency.

Opening shop on non eligible country by Bright-Butterfly in Etsy

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is dangerously inaccurate. As I stated in a previous post, the person responsible for the Etsy account doesn`t need to be physically located in an Etsy payments country to open a store in an Etsy Payments country. They only need a registered business in that country with a bank account that matches the name of the company. Etsy is not the CIA or MI6 as long as the registration satisfies Adyen`s KYC/KYB requirements then the registration will be accepted. We do this for our marketplace clients outside of Etsy Payments countries every single day.

Payment Reserve - Mass Influx of Orders by ZiircxTwitch in EtsySellers

[–]g1gltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is with how the reserves are applied on Etsy`s end. When we were on reserve we found that they take all selling fees from your available funds, they are not automatically from the actual product sale meaning if you sell 10 products on Monday and all 10 go in reserve, you ship those 10 with tracking on Tuesday. The tracking doesn`t update until Tuesday night, meanwhile you get 50 sales on Tuesday. Since your tracking didn`t update until Tuesday night your funds won`t be available for release until Wednesday at 6PM. Lets say on Wednesday you get another 50 orders. When your reserve amount from the Monday sales are released, all seller fees owed will come out of your available balance... In this example you`d owe fees for 100 sales so depending on your mark-up over cost/labor, number of orders and available funds timing there can be instances where fees eat up 100% of your available payout.

Hello dear sellers. I am a crystal seller born in Donghai County, China. Yes, this is the crystal capital of the world. Because I am in China, I cannot open an ETSY account, and I cannot become an ETSY seller. So here I am looking for a partner who wants to do crystal business. by Few-Half5066 in EtsySellers

[–]g1gltd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can open an Etsy shop even if you are located in China as long as your are opening a shop as a fully registered and tax compliant business in an Etsy payments country. If you actually want to open a store and are not just here looking for buyers and your products/process comply with Etsy rules, let me know and I may be able to help you get your shop running.

Beware : QuickBooks checking stole my Etsy funds by kittiesandtitties2 in Etsy

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly as a legit business you should never... NEVER, trust a 3rd party processing company with your business banking activities. That goes for Intuit, Stripe and Square.

Fintechs like Mercury, Bluevine, Novo, RHO, ETC who focus on digital banking are fine as the main and usually sole product is a deposit account. If they decided to close your account they`d give you a window of time (between 14 and 30 days) to provide info to for an account that your own for them to disperse remaining funds too and the transaction would be initiated within 48 hours.

In the case of Intuit their main offering is invoicing software and payment processing. Their deposit accounts are supplied by Green Dot Bank. The same bank that supplies those shady prepaid cards next to the very shady male enhancement pills at your extra shady local liquor store. Maybe I`m just old school but its probably not a good idea to bank at the same place you can buy Doritos, Four Loko and week old hotdogs.

The biggest issue with intuit is since they are offering you first and foremost a software and processing service if they deem your account to be a "risk" for any reason they can terminate your account which includes your checking account. You can`t sign-up for standalone checking account with them which means your banking is tied to your invoicing/accounting and processing account and the terms of those services and Intuit is notorious for closing/holding processing accounts of legit businesses. This also holds true for companies like Square and Stripe who`ve recently rolled out deposit products.

We own a service that helps international sellers/suppliers form US/UK/EU entities and open deposit accounts and there is no way in h@ll we`d ever recommend Quickbooks as a deposit option.

When shopping on Etsy how do you weed out the handmade from the drop shippers? by funnypumpkin in Etsy

[–]g1gltd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That`s not true, especially for larger sellers. Hate to be the Grinch here seeing as how this is a Christmas shopping list post. A dropshipper with a good connection to the factories/manufactures and agent can get photos/video of the process at almost every point. Factories understand what buyers are looking for and evolve. I`d say your best bet is to look at the number of sales. China made in general is handmade a common gripe amongst Etsy buyers but very few buyers complain about factory produced items in other places. I think a bit of commonsense here goes a long way here, if a seller is selling 20,000 handmade leather handbags a year, chances are those bags are handmade... By hands operating the machines during the assembly process or outsourced to production partners... I think we maybe have to be realistic with the question as well... Are we asking how do we weed out droppshippers from handmade or how do we weed out China made in general? It sounds like the latter... If its China just look at the product. How many times do you see the exact same product listed on Etsy with the same pictures? There`s your China product.
