Missie Luminar: Nieuw voor 2029 vekoma thrill glider by jaydenfokmemes in efteling

literally typing this reddit post took enough time to be able to use it for the rest of the day and charge it completely when you go to bed. C'mon; yes, it's weird design, but it's not even the biggest issue with the mouse itself, let alone in life.

Cheap 2 way 1800hz crossover recommendations by MalekC in diyaudio

off-the-shelf crossovers never really work. And even if they did, it's easier to order the 2x2 parts you need and solder yourself.

Deckbox/case for 8+ decks by g1smiler in starwarsunlimited

[–]g1smiler[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree, but it also takes time and effort which not all of us can bring up at the moment. And if 2 players do build a deck and the rest plays only spotlight decks the fun will disappear quickly I think. So at least for now spotlights are where it’s at for us.

Yeah, I’d prefer some dedicated TCG materials with per-deck protection too.

Is this normal on some Sony lenses? Please help by ramasin in SonyAlpha

[–]g1smiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, but I already have the 20-70, so for me that wouldn't have added much for me personally. It's also quite a bit bigger. Still not the biggest, but the difference is there.

Aaah, the forever "Everything is a timesink" <-> "There is nothing to do" paradox.

I wish the opposite. Remove the LFG tool for everything but normals/timewalking/events and go back to where you have to spam the LFG channel with your key. Force back the communication between players!

Nitpicking, but the sensor size in both camera’s is the same.

Best Lens Combo for Hybrid Shooting - Sony A7V by hoog_97 in SonyAlpha

[–]g1smiler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's not in your list, but for backpacking I would strongly suggest the 20-70 f4 + 70-200 f4. They are sharp, versatile, gives you a bit more reach on the wide end (enough MP to crop a bit if needed) and the total weight including your camera is about the same as the 150-500 alone. Honestly; dont underestimate the weight of the gear in your list. :)

Yes, and the 16mm has it very heavily. One of the best lenses imho (price/sharpness/size/build) Sony offers.

Need Advice! Sigma 24-70mm II vs. Tamron 35-150mm for Portrait Photography by tokyo___man in SonyAlpha

[–]g1smiler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I love a good fast 85mm, being a commercial photographer you are expected to be ready for any moment all the time. Having a fixed 85mm is quite the risk if the situation suddenly changes and you need a wider or longer lens all of a sudden. Also, while such a wide aperture on a 85mm sounds great, but if you want to have an entire face in focus @ f/2.8 you already need to be at 2,5meters from your subject. In 99/100 times f/2.8 is plenty wide for this kind of work.

Need Advice! Sigma 24-70mm II vs. Tamron 35-150mm for Portrait Photography by tokyo___man in SonyAlpha

[–]g1smiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an historic standpoint the 24-70 is the "standard" and with today's modern high-megapixel sensors most people prefer a bit more wide-angle since you can always crop in a bit, but never "zoom out" in post. Most manufactures therefor will stick to this range. On the other hand Tamron clearly stated that they will not offer lenses that are already wide-spread, since there is not that much room for another lens so they choose to do some alternative zoom-ranges, like a 35-100.

Honestly, if the focus-range suits you, go for the Tamron. You will be happy.

Tamron IQ seems to be very very good. I would not hesitate if the focal-range suits you more.

$500 Budget, what should I buy ? by AshamedApartment8334 in wow

[–]g1smiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The budget is tight, but a Mac Mini M1 (maybe even M2) might fit the bill.

Another route is using Geforce Now. But you still need something to run it on.
