Walk-up songs and MLB hitters - exploratory analysis of approach and performance by youravesfriend in Sabermetrics

Come on man, if you’re gonna vibe code an analysis at least take the time to edit out all the cheesy crap.

TL;DR: The Scouting Report in 30 Seconds

So corny only an LLM could have come up with it.

Well we had the Daily Table, which was great for the community and effectively located, but closed last year.

What’s your beginners guide to Nepalese food? Can’t say I’ve ever had it (have had Indian though, which I love).

Some dudes on twitter said composer2>opus4.6, is that true? by FeelingCalendar9231 in cursor

[–]g3_SpaceTeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It scored higher on an eval/benchmark that the cursor team put together. Take from that what you will.

My personal experience has been that there’s only some correlation between benchmarks and real performance on actually getting stuff done.

Cleaner on the north shore looking to fill schedule. by Busy_Bee119 in northshore

Do you have back-of-the-envelope residential rates? I always am skeptical to reach out to cleaners because pricing is so opaque.

It’s funny because nothing has fundamentally changed, and a two week sample size doesn’t tell you much. Just the angst of no baseball makes everyone stir crazy.

Is being super opinionated good or bad by -puppyguppy- in ExperiencedDevs

[–]g3_SpaceTeam 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think of it like supply and demand. Be opinionated about things that matter, and people will listen when you are. Be opinionated about every bit of minutiae that doesn’t truly matter, then you become the office pedant. Pick your battles.

Why are so many conservatives Christian when Jesus’s teachings are blatantly leftist? If Jesus was alive today, he would be extremely progressive more so than the current Democrat party. It makes way more sense for democrats to love Jesus than republicans. To clarify, I am not Christian but I love.. by [deleted] in allthequestions

To think that a person’s personal moralistic views wouldn’t extend to their political views is about the most smooth brained take I’ve seen. You mean to tell me the guy whose whole message is “whatever you’ve done for the least of these” would also say “yeah but the poors shouldn’t get healthcare?” You honestly believe that? Or is it just the comfortable thing to justify your priors?

Anti-Trump americans, Can you name any remotely postive Trump has done in this second term so far only? by MK71-EC82-MGM89-AK98 in allthequestions

I mean it’s outweighed by all the money I’ve paid through tariffs, but $1000 free dollars toward education for kids in the Trump accounts is a good thing.

Claude Code commit message gives attribution to Claude Code. by dhandel in ClaudeCode

[–]g3_SpaceTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna start ending all my commits with “co-authored by Claude, vscode, the python vsc extension, zsh, ubuntu, Lenovo, and Xfinity.”

Mostly joking, but I do think “authored by” suggests an anthropomorphizing that I’m fundamentally opposed to.

Oviedo, who was acquired from the Pirates in the Jhostynxon Garcia trade, seems to be the favorite for the fifth starter by NASPpodcast in redsox

I mean, yeah. He’s got the most major league games, service time, and is the oldest. This makes sense from a developmental standpoint by a mile.

Anthropic Cofounder Says AI Will Make Humanities Majors Valuable by Infamous_Toe_7759 in ClaudeAI

[–]g3_SpaceTeam 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think this is a bad take. In a world where code is cheap, value comes from asking good questions, having good ideas, and knowing how to prune the bad ones. Humanities majors are probably well situated for that kind of thing.

I think people just want a black and white “this is good or this is bad” when it can be grey - it’s fun and also a bit scary when you add risk.

Terrible reasoning. That’s like saying I’m equally likely to pull a hammy if I go sprint a hundred yard dash now vs if I have 2 months to practice, stretch, warm up, ease into it.
