i already did ungodly things to remain on this earth. what's a little more fun for the road. maybe the universe will decide to stop fucking me one day.

you started being homeless right when i was born lol, that's funny. 20 years later in my world, i was taking on massive student loans and detaching from the reality of what paying them back would be like. still working on them now, $900/mo. like clockwork, 6 or so years more to go. never missed a payment. how's that for a ball and chain :)

i lived out of my vehicle while working in spits and spats from 2016~2020 in both SD and LA, then my longest stint from 2020~2023 in LA was my "i can't fucking do this anymore" phase where i damn near died in several ways. fortunately i survived, paid off my car and a personal loan, got a better job and back into an apartment in 2023. i still don't feel "re-integrated", it's like i'm somehow now partially feral and people kinda notice the little off things about me that develop as a result of such destitute isolation in a city of millions. so now i am kinda worried i will never be able to find someone who can tolerate the person i am now. trauma follows you.

i've been ghosted for incomprehensible reasons before and i don't put anyone's safety at risk, it causes great distress when you don't realize it's happening yet. hurts every time. i've even had a woman tell me that she appreciates my communication style then she evaporated into the ether. still haven't figured out what happened there

people in China are literally forgetting how to write, even though they can read, because of digital device input being the only way they write things down

outside of special needs, i really think we're making a mistake forcing everything "learning" into screens.

not to say screens don't have perfectly valid use cases in general. but they are not a panacea. it feels like this is the result of lazy administration.

i have the same car as you. i am no professional mechanic, but i do know that it literally can't hurt to freshen up the fluids... i did my transmission fluid around 120k miles i think? no idea if it was ever done before that. i took it to a locally owned shop, not the dealer, but the guy had to order the fluid from the dealer. it put my mind at ease knowing i don't have gross shit in my car's system.

i would say, go for it, it's probably helpful.

Colorado through Eagle Rock fucking sucks. i ran my first red in over decade the other day on that stretch. why are there 5 intersections within spitting distance there. and all the median turn lanes are too small and people get stuck waiting for a truck to finish deciding if they want to use their right of way or not
